Years ago I named my beautiful black female cat after Isis, the Egyptian goddess.
It fit her perfectly (see her on my profile page)
Now, I’m ashamed to tell people what her name is..stupid 7th century savages!!

My sister is a fan of “Downton Abbey.”
On the show, Lord Grantham has a dog named “Isis,” or should I say had.
My sister once said, “You watch, something is going to happen to that dog because of it’s name.”
Sure enough, on one episode the dog took ill and died.
I guess the producers didn’t want to have a cast member named Isis, even if it was a dog.
