Black Lives Matter activists at Princeton University have taken over the presidentâs office and say they wonât leave until the school acknowledges former U.S. president Woodrow Wilson as a racist and renames all buildings currently honoring him on campus.
Members of a group calling themselves the Black Justice League walked out of their classes late Wednesday morning and assembled at Nassau Hall, where they were met by Princeton president Christopher Eisgruber. The students presented a list of demands inspired by similar lists that have been seen at Yale University, the University of Missouri, and elsewhere.

Oh, there are plenty of corporations that only want the magic piece of paper the colleges hand out for a mere quarter mil. The really don’t care what’s on it.
Agreed. And I truly wish someone would publicize what the majors are of these disruptors. Dollars to donuts they are of the "studies" variety - i.e. nonmajors, in my opinion - who have oh so much time on their hands to protest and be aggrieved and offended.
The engineering and computer science and premed students, I would bet, are too busy studying to participate in this silliness.
Well, that’s a demand I could get behind!..................
WWHS was named shortly after his death—I imagine a lot schools got their names at that time. Huge portrait in the library dedicated by his widow. Remember that he was a somewhat tragic figure at his death—after his stroke and the American rejection of his League of Nations. When I went there, there was a grand total of one black kid—the school board kept moving the school’s attendance boundary as blacks started moving east.
I imagine it is minority-majority now, but which minority I couldn’t tell you.
Suddenly it’s 1968.
Woodrow Wilson does have a lot to answer for.
Agree 100%. Same principle as repealed Amendments remaining in print. So we don't make the same mistake again.
“the parents are paying nearly $70,000 a year for what? to let their little juvie delinquients have a âsafeâ romper room to act out their various antisocial psycosis?”
My bet is that these are “scholarship” students...
Which is why I'm setting back eating my kale and laughing at these former protesters getting a full dose of their bs.
Karma can be a brutal bitch.
When is someone with guts, going to stop this stuff!
Interesting. The Black Lives Matter activists apparently didn't get the memo that Woody Wilson was a left-wing "progressive" DemonRat. It's OK for them to be racist as they want.
Proof that the Black Lives Matter activists are just puppets being manipulated by unseen forces. Who told them who Woodrow Wilson was?
No more erasing history.
Try sauteeing your kale in some olive oil & a tiny pour of Dale’s seasoning liquid ( a great substitute for soy sauce if you run out of that).........delicious!!!!!!!!!
Um, never.....
Lol! Poor old “progressive” Woodrow!
“This will be where the Admins draw the line.”

You know,I would have believed that a couple of weeks ago,but no more.
When the cowardly president of the U of Missouri stepped down I was jerked back to reality.
The BLM people are running the universities and no one seems to care but us.
.
I was thinking the same thing. This fad has the 60’s written all over it.
In Communist Red China, during the "Great Leap Forward".
You're thinking of the "Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution" (1966-76). The "Great Leap Forward" (1958-63) was one of the five year plans.
The special irony -- most of them got in solely because of "preferential treatment." If not for liberal guilt, they wouldn't even be in an Ivy League.
Although no fan of Wilson, I suspect that every historical figure has skeletons in the closet. Funny -- Margaret Sanger, who pushed for the availability of birth control, is a feminist icon. Yet she believed certain races should be sterilized. Why not get rid of HER tributes or references? Even DuBois, founder of NAACP, was critical of lower-class blacks. Today he would be seen as raving conservative.
I’m at the point of opining that time these nitwits demand something change its name we should revert something now named after a civil rights personage (but NOT for any soldiers) to its original name.
