Donald Trump on Tuesday named Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) when asked about his possible running mate in 2016.
âTed Cruz is now agreeing with me 100 percent,â he said when asked about his vice presidential pick, according to Lifezette.
âWell, I like him,â Trump told radio host Laura Ingraham during her broadcast. "Heâs backed everything Iâve said.â Unlike most of the Republican presidential hopefuls, Cruz has mostly refrained from attacking Trump, even appearing alongside him at a rally in September against the Iran nuclear deal.
The pair has also struck similar tones on topics such as border security and illegal immigration.
Still, Trump suggested late Monday that he will turn on Cruz if he becomes a threat to his front-runner status.
âIf he catches on, I guess weâll have to go to war,â he told host Joe Kernen on CNBCâs âSquawk Box.â

Nothing lame about upholding my sworn oath and defending the Constitution.
It has already been at the U.S. Supreme Court:
There is nobody here that is able to argue their position successfully on the merits. I haven't even been scratched.
Piss off, Obot.
Ping to #14.
I searched that entire document, and didn’t find Ted Cruz’s name anywhere.
If this were “settled,” then it would no longer be an issue for some people.
I actually think it would be seriously entertaining to see the ObaMaobots make this claim. And their state media do likewise. But I repeat myself.

Point 5 is HUGE, and the main reason Trump is my top pick. I’m closer to Cruz ideologically, but a sad reality is that we’ve gone so far away from what the founders believed to be unquestioned (people not paying taxes shouldn’t vote, there were not career politicians, etc...) the sad fact is the constitution allows for obstructionism with relatively low numbers. The founders also never counted on a situation where 4 Supreme Court justices would hate the ideology behind the country’s founding.
So the downside of Cruz is that he won’t do anything that he can’t do constitutionally. And sadly, the coalition of socialists and minorities plus gerrymandering will guarantee the democrats 45 senators minimum. Enough to block anything in the senate. we can’t continue to allow an invasion simply because a minority is sympathetic to the invaders. Cruz would never use eminent domain and executive orders to build a wall. Trump would.
Crybaby.
Liz, this one is really my favorite! I love the term gladiator, but what can beat this rendering! He is a patriot gladiator! Thank you both, so much!! Rita
His seeking the office of President disproves that statement.
Trump was offered a huge, muti-year contract, probably in the tens of millions, to renew his “The Apprenctice” contract...which he refused. Can you rwally see him throwing all that money away, just to run fir president?? I think not. He is as serious as a heart attack. (no pun)
Can you site any VPs that have made much of a difference in a given presidency? You may say Cheney, but I believe Daddy Bush had more influence over W than him.
