The Paris terrorist attacks seem likely to compel President Barack Obama to consider military escalation against the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria. But that probably will not mean dramatic moves like launching a U.S. or international ground offensive or accelerating aerial bombing in hopes of eliminating the global threat of violent extremism.

"You aren't going to bomb ISIS back to the Stone Age," Anthony Cordesman, a longtime Middle East analyst, said Saturday. [...]

As Cordesman sees it, years of tragic terrorist attacks like Paris are almost inevitable, and there are no near-term solutions. ...

“You aren’t going to bomb ISIS back to the Stone Age,”

Because they’re already there.
Pity Western civilization is threatened by rock chuckers.

From the article:

The alliance should welcome nonmember participants, including Russia, he said.

So much for that whole solidarity with Ukraine thing.

It seems simple given the desert. Neutralize the ISIS cities, keep the roads between cities “sterile” 27/7 . Repeat.

Yeah, maybe against ex-military and constitutionalists in this country.

You can rely on Bath House to go exactly opposite of the required direction.

There is a lot of blame to go around but I doubt we will see any of them “swing” for their crimes. The lib talking heads are all in for their ideology today in so much of what I’ve read and heard on the radio. That ideology has brought a lot of misery to a lot of people. One concern is that we may not have another election. Obama (like Satan in the Bible) knows his time is short so he’s going to do as much damage as he can or he may be scheming how to stay for a 3rd term.

Cordesman is FOS! General of the Air Force Curtis LeMay once said: “If you kill enough of them, they stop fighting! I'm just hoping that Putin really puts the hurt on ISIS for the plane bombing. He has to appease his folks back home. The good news is that Putin has no compunction about indiscriminate killing like we do.

Indiscriminate killing is one thing; refusing to fight the enemy is another.

The big question when it comes to Putin is when he’s going to stop aiding the biggest state sponsor of Islamic terrorism.

Yeah, I must admit Putin is a mixed bag, but there’s not much we can do about Iran until we get a new president. In the meantime, I hope ISIS bates him, because it will help in the interim if Putin goes to work on ISIS.

He’s going to “step up military action” without increasing air attacks, or doing any ground attacks? What exactly does that mean? Is he going to Tweet them to death?
