In the Reuters/Ipsos 5-day tracking poll that samples 534 Republicans, over the last week, Donald Trump has surged to a massive national lead in the GOP presidential primary. Currently, the billionaire businessman sits at 42% with likely Republican primary voters. His closest competitor is Ben Carson, who sits at just below 25%.
Last week both men were pretty much tied up at around 25%. That is a 17 point surge for Trump.
Among all Republicans, Trumps enjoys a 34% to 20% lead over Carson.
Reuters adds that this “is also bad news for Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), who is widely considered to be emerging as the establishment-backed alternative to Trump.”
Rubio remains stuck at 10%.

Bye bye GOPe...
“who is widely considered to be emerging as the establishment-backed alternative to Trump”
Meaning that the establishment wants him as Trump’s VP
It all started with hosting Saturday Night Live last week to great acclaim and bringing SNL it's highest ratings in years. People are still buzzing about the skit in which the Mexican president sheepishly hands Trump a check to pay for the Wall.
Then Trump lit up the Sunday morning talking head shows, and had a massive rally in Illinois the following night. Then he absolutely killed it in the debates on Tuesday night, flew into NH on Wednesday for a breakfast event and had a fiery 90 minute speech in Iowa on Thursday night that people are still wrapping their heads around. Then we had the unfortunate terrorist attacks Friday night that validated everything Trump has been trying to tell us about the Muslim threat and our need to close our borders.
I think this week just past will turn out to be the week that made a president.
There are three people running for President who are on the side of the citizens and the rule of law.
Santorum, Cruz and Trump.
The rest are all on the side of the illegal aliens and their employers.
If we donât elect a President who will uphold the rule of law, the Republic is finished.
The existential threat to the country is open borders.
Iâm in the Cruz camp, but will defend Trump because there is an orchestrated campaign to take him out.
The Cheap Labor Express wants to deny the citizens the ability to keep their country.
They have control of the RNC and have nominated nothing but amnesty/open borders candidates since the last amnesty.
I can imagine a John McCain, John Boehner, Mitch McTurtle meeting with Kasich to attack from the flank in the debate. ...and he did. What else explains such bizzare behavior.
I met John Kasich in the halls of congress when I was 26 and thought the world of him.
It just confirms my understanding, you can never tell what’s in a mans heart
All 3 are Amnesty pimps. Good riddance to all 3.
Trump + Carson = 67%
Trump picked the right issue from Day #1.
Rubio is a good strategic pick, Walker would be better, but can that bridge be unburned?
GOPe meltdown coming soon.
Trumps gotta shine in this stump speech. He has France to talk about and reinforce the immigration theme.
From the article about Coulter you referenced:
“Conservatives have already begun to use this attack as a weapon against Muslim people. To those who believe that Islam is the cause of the worldâs ills, this attack only confirms what they already thought they knew. Peaceful Muslims the world over must now fear for their lives and livelihoods as the western world once again turns against them.”
Only the truly stupid can look at a terrorist attack by muslims in France and blame the fallout on American Conservatives. The so-called “peaceful muslims” should be shaking in their shoes right now because the soldiers that they support and cheer for have placed the crosshairs squarely on them.
A truly “peaceful muslim” would be reading the Holy Bible today and begging Jesus Christ to come into their life and save them from their religion.
