PARIS (AFP) -
Sirens blaring, blood on the roads, weeping relatives: nightmare scenes played out on the streets of Paris on Friday night as at least 120 people were killed in simultaneous attacks.
Pierre Montfort lives close to a Cambodian restaurant on Rue Bichat, where one of seven attacks took place in a night of bloodshed not seen in decades.
"We heard the sound of guns, 30-second bursts. It was endless. We thought it was fireworks," he said.
Another witness described the scene: "For a moment, we could only see the flames from the gun. We were scared, how did we know he wasn't going to shoot the windows?"
Florence said she arrived by scooter a minute or so after.
"It was surreal, everyone was on the ground. No one was moving inside the Petit Cambodge restaurant and everyone was on the ground in bar Carillon," she said.
"It was very calm -- people didn't understand what was going on. A young girl was being carried in the arms of a young man. She seemed to be dead."

The French have surrendered once in their proud history. Many French are still ashamed.
They can still fight.
Centuries ago they were united with Germany under a single king. They come from the same genetic stock.
Why not? I’m not into being politically correct. They made their bleeding-heart decisions and their people are bleeding because of it. What’s not to blame?
We also have to hope we don’t follow their path with the same disastrous consequences. Of course, Obama told us just this morning that ISIS is contained. He never said they were contained in Paris though.
“Very common for most Europeans to shop for their dinner every day.”
Must be common in Europe- my family in Italy does the same thing. They’d think I was nuts if they saw my superpails, #10 cans, and mason jars of food taking up an entire room in my basement!
It's going to be a very long wait.
Waterloo and ...
I was watching Fox and Geraldo Rivera was on with Shepherd and Rivera's daughter was at the stadium in Paris. Geraldo nearly broke down during this time as the daughter was on the phone and she sounded young and very frightened. She said when she came out of the stadium, it was obvious a bomb had gone off and people were grabbing up their children and running every which way as no one knew where to go.
She got back to her hotel and was in her room. About then, Shep said he just got news terrorists are still loose. Rivera looked ashen and you could see his grief. He told her to lock herself in the room and don't go out and keep her cell phone charged.
He told her he was coming to get her tomorrow, but the plane flights to Paris had been called off. He looked like he wanted to crawl through the phone line to get there.
If there is any way for him to get to Paris, he's going. How many more American parents have children over there and are worried out of their minds.
In order to get food, she will have to leave that room.
I have traveled a lot overseas, and my rule is, carry a large jar of peanut butter and crackers in your carry on bag. If she had that, she would have food and could stay locked in that room. I wish I could get that to her.
It is weird because I have been doing that but I’m trying not to shop for dinner. I would go grocery shopping every 2 days and I feel weird for doing that.
I am trying to begin to prep incase as much as I can afford to until I can find a job.
The good news is that myriad Muslim groups will condemn these savage attacks tomorrow.
We should be in the streets tomorrow demanding the end of ISLAMIC immigrants to the USA.
“This is not the time to bash the French.”
Especially since we are following in their footsteps.
“We should be in the streets tomorrow demanding the end of ISLAMIC immigrants to the USA.”
I agree, they are going to try to kill us. Remember that when you go to a place where there are lots of people. Be aware of your surroundings. Always know where the exits to a place are.
Practice in your mind what you would do if that place suddenly became unsafe.
The only place we go weekly where there are lots of people is church. Most weeks we go one time to a certain restaurant where there are people.
I did hear earlier today that New York City had safety measures started. Right now a man from New York City is discussing where these security measures are happening. Plus they are saying every large US city is on alert.
There were Americans in that Paris concert hall and so far there is not a list of who was killed.
The Paris tragedy is a very good example of why we have changed our life style over the years since 2011.
And even more so since the election of Barack Obama.
Always be aware of your surroundings and the people nearby and avoid potential death traps.
Don’t get caught in a shopping mall on days like Black Friday.
Don’t get caught having to flag a cab down in the ghetto at 3 AM.
Stay away from the muslim part of town.
etc.
And especially = don’t get wedged into a stadium seat with 60,000 other people with exits designed to handle only a tenth of 1% of that number.
Think how long it takes to fill up the average sports arena or concert venue.
Terrorists don’t need to block the exits - the architects made it unnecessary.

My niece is over there. She is safe for which we are so thankful!
“The French have surrendered once in their proud history.”
They lost to the English at the Battle of Angicourt and surrendered
The French lost and surrendered in the French and Indian war and had their North American Colonies stripped and taken by Britain.
Napoleon surrendered to the British (Twice)
Napoleon III surrendered to the Germans at the end of the Franco Prussian War and this was a humiliating defeat that lead directly to WW1
They fought bravely in the first 1/2 of WW1.
The French actually surrendered to the Germans in 1940 and then the Vichy French government surrendered to the Allies in 1945 making France the only nation in history to lose the same war twice, once on each side.
The French also basically surrendered to the North Vietnamese and handed the war in Vietnam over to the US in the early 1960s.
That said the West still owes them a debit for winning the Battle of Pointers and stopping the Muslim invasion of Europe as well as for manning the 1st Crusade.
The US still owes France a debit for French help in the US Revolution.
The French have surrendered more than once but that does not mean they will this time
“My niece is over there. She is safe for which we are so thankful!”
I’m so glad you know she is safe.
The vermin behind this need to be eradicated — totally. I donât care what it takes. This scourge must be eliminated.

Prayers up. This transcends political orientation. Of course a father would care about his young daughter this way. Worse, yes, the bastards are still loose.
Praise the Lord!
