MARKSVILLE — Police body camera video shows the father of a 6-year-old autistic boy had his hands up and posed no threat as police opened fire, severely wounding the motorist and killing the boy, the man's lawyer said Monday.
"This was not a threatening situation for the police," said Mark Jeansonne, the attorney for Chris Few, who remained hospitalized, missing the family's funeral for 6-year-old Jeremy Mardis.
Jeansonne spoke with The Associated Press after a closed hearing for the two marshals. He said the judge ordered both held on $1 million bond. Derrick Stafford, 32, of Mansura and Derrick Greenhouse Jr., 23, of Marksville each is charged with second-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder.
The lawyer said he still hasn't seen the video, but its contents were described to the judge during the hearing.
He also said that while Few's condition is improving, he has not yet been told that his son died at the scene.

That never ends well. In this case, an innocent boy was killed.
Judging on looks, I don’t think either one of these guys qualify as the sharpest tool in the shed.

Maybe he knew or suspected that one of them planned to blow his brains out if they caught him.

This is racially-motivated murder. The cops need to be put in jail.

These guys were thugs with police badges. I hear they both had extensive disciplinary records. The whole episode reminds me of “A Clockwork Orange”.
Not Obama, but other BLM types have already whined about the “rush to judgment” when black cops shoot whitey.

Yep. I went ahead and read more on this sad story. It seems there was some personal bad blood between Few and one of those city marshals.

No.*This* white guy first wants to see the video (which hopefully has sound) and then wants to hear the cops' side of the story.Of course the kid didn't deserve to die but that doesn't necessarily mean that the father didn't somehow provoke the cop(s).
