Family Research Council president Tony Perkins has been broadcasting his âWashington Watchâ radio program from Israel this week, where he is helping to lead an FRC tour group. Also on the tour is former Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota, who joined Perkins on the program on Wednesday to share her view that biblical prophecy is being fulfilled all around her and that it was more urgent than ever to convert as many people as possible â including Jews â to Christianity to prepare for the imminent return of Christ.
âAlmost every article in the paperâ has to do with conflicts in Israel, Bachmann said, âand it ties with so much biblical prophecy. This week really was about biblical prophecy in many ways. And weâre seeing as events are speeding up, events are speeding up so quickly right now, and we see how relevant the Bible is, and weâre reading our newspaper, at the same time weâre learning about these biblical events, and itâs literally day by day by day, weâre seeing the fulfillment of scripture right in front of our eyes, even while weâre on the ground.â
âWe recognize the shortness of the hour,â she said, âand thatâs why we as a remnant want to be faithful in these days and do what it is that the Holy Spirit is speaking to each one of us, to be faithful in the Kingdom and to help bring in as many as we can â even among the Jews â share Jesus Christ with everyone that we possibly can because, again, Heâs coming soon.â
No, I have no interest in teaching, thanks. But you declared Hinduism polytheistic according to Jewish teachings. Therefore, you need to provide the Jewish teachings on Hindu polytheism. I am responding to your erroneous interpretation of Hinduism. Whether it's yours, or Judaism's, I don't know.
Maybe I don’t have such benighted view of humanity as you do.
They think their religious beliefs come from (lehavdil!) "god" just as yours come from HaShem. They are not intentionally following something they just pulled out of their jammies any more than you are. As long as they sincerely believe this, it is cruel for you to demand them to not obey their religion and try to convert everyone. You don't want them doing that? Then convert them to Noachism.
Judaism is very much against proselytizing others to become Jews. It is very difficult to convince an Orthodox rabbi to teach you the precepts of Judaism culminating in conversion. I am not even discussing the "Become a Jew in 10 Days, Just Add Water" nonsense of the non-Orthodox. Their "Insta-Jew" stuff is not in accordance with Jewish law and the conversion would not be recognized in Israel.
You're being a bit disingenuous here. Judaism does not proselytize non-Jews to convert to Judaism, but it very much does want non-Jews to convert to the Noachide Laws. I notice that you never mention these. You are raising two false alternatives: sincere belief in the exclusive truth of chrstianity (G-d forbid!), or else accepting all religions as equally valid. The Jewish mission to all non-Jews is to convert them to the Noachide Laws. Non-Jews won't make it into Ha`Olam HaBa' unless they do this.
You have never known what it is like to change religions once you learn the Truth. Someone like you and someone like me (a "convert" of sorts myself) will only ever talk past one another.
I'm done here.
Conversion to faith in Christ IS spiritual death. But on the other side of that death is everlasting life. That is why we conduct the sacrament of baptism. Baptism is a “dying with Christ so that we may be raised with Christ.”

Well, for the Jewish and Christian alike, I hope there are more than that because I fear the leaders of this country and Europe plan in open up their borders to the muslim invaders.
We have found a great Treasure. God tells us that He would love to give this Treasure to everyone, and He would appreciate our assistance. Thus we proclaim His good news. But, have no fear, unlike head-chopping muslims, faithful Christians understand that it is the Holy Spirit that does the converting. We just help out with the logistics once He has done the real work. I have no desire to coerce you, but I am overjoyed when someone else permits God to give His Treasure to him. I hope you are in peace.
Dylan long ago left his “Christian period” behind. He apparently believes in G-d, but not so much in any particular organized religion. He does have at least one daughter and son-in-law who are Orthodox Jews. So, sorry, he doesn’t belong to anyone.
Well said.
I know! It be so awful to be a Christian, wouldn't it? /s
Because Christ was the Jewish Messiah without whom no Jew can ever get into heaven, per the teachings of scripture.
I personally get high on life, but no drugs are necessary to understand these teachings:
Joh_3:18 He that believeth on [Christ] is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
How does that differ from the Mooslimes believing we all have to be converted to their religion?
Muslims do it by force. We do it through the power of the Holy Spirit for the salvation of your souls.
What if I'm perfectly happy with my religion and don't see anything whatsoever attractive about other religions that I'd want to drop mine and adopt theirs?
Then don't convert, and in hell you can complain that we didn't try harder.
If a Christian does not believe it is necessary to preach to the Jews, then they are not actually Christians.
Right now the Jews in Israel make a mockery of God's law, a recent example being how the Orthodox Jews temporarily sell their land to Gentiles to work them, because God no longer gives them an abundance during the 6th year so that they can let the land rest on the 7th. The Jews have no Priesthood. Their sacrifices are no good to them. Gentiles stomp all over the Temple Mount. The Temple has been destroyed for almost 2000 years, destroyed on the anniversary of God's judgment for their sins when He destroyed their last temple. There is no Prophet. There is no law giver from the house of Judah. There is only silence.
Israel is nothing more than a secular state where even the Orthodox do not follow the Old Testament, but instead render the law void through their interpretations so that they do not fall under the curse of the law:
Deu 27:26 Cursed be he that confirmeth not all the words of this law to do them. And all the people shall say, Amen.
I am a Christian, and part of the deal is “Go and make disciples of all nations.”
The end times stuff though, is some pretty odd stuff.
You totally missed the point.
Yes. If being a Jew was good enough for Jesus,
Christians trying to convert people out of it
are embarking on a insulting endeavor.
If you do not believe in Jesus, He doesn't consider you a Jew:
They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham. But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham. Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God. Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me. Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word. Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not. Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me? He that is of God heareth God's words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God. (Joh 8:39-47)
