Interesting this kind of better never occurs with democrats. Next we’ll be hearing how the Carsons’ bathroom fixtures are rubbed bronze in color, wich must be a reflection of his very dark and foreboding worldview.

It is a common theme amongst Christian physicians that God does the healing and the man is just the tool He uses. The picture is not dissimilar from other Jesus/physician pictures, and it is meant as a humbling reminder that the physician is NOT God (it is very easy for doctors to get a God complex.)
I was in Los Angeles at a Korean Methodist church the first time I saw a non-white Jesus - the stained glass window had a Korean Jesus reaching out to the little children. That one window changed my whole world - Jesus meets us where we are at, and not as a stranger from a strange culture.
That picture of Carson with Jesus and a lot of other adornments in the house could very well be gifts from the appreciative families of his patients.
I don’t know how many FReepers served full careers in the military, but it was typical to have what was commonly known as an “I love me” wall, replete with awards, photos, diplomas, etc. I’m not sure why anyone would find the decor of the Carson home so off-putting.

You know, in my home, I have photos, certificates of achievement everywhere earned by those I love..I even have a couple of myself hanging around. I have filled scrapbooks full of photos and stories of the people I love. Why do I do that? Because it is important for us and maybe for posterity to be reminded that we were here and what we did while we were here. It inspires others and makes us happy that some have and are fulfilling a destiny. Why do we have history books and Presidential libraries? Dr. Ben Carson is an example of someone so gifted in many ways and his rise to prominence in medicine is a miracle for him and for humanity in his time. The besmirching of him by these little green with envy souls is what good people expect these days. I am guessing that Candy Carson had much to do with carefully cherishing all that her husband has achieved, like my husband, who achieved far beyond what he ever dreamed, coming from a small KY farm family. However, those overalls and the life they represented..intelligence, hard work, family, hope, character, integrity, faith..all expressed themselves in due time through his efforts. Of course, today, it seems that sociopathology trumps all those things and if you possess them, you, more than likely will be ostracized. The Carson’s have every right to enjoy the success of their lives and to display the proof of that. Who knows, some wicked people might want to transform Carson’s history at some point. OH, WAIT! This story is so despicable. Makes me want to go outside and throw rocks. Or better yet, I will now go and study my Sunday School lesson for today by the title of WHERE WICKEDNESS RULES..” God does not allow disobedience and rebellion against Him to continue unrestrained. I think it is his house to decorate as he wishes. The most bizarre thing here is how those who ridicule people who support Trump are just as blind to some major foibles in their man Carson as they accuse “Trumpettes” of being. Seems their double standard is on display here.

The title of this thread should be “When Freepers Attack: Doing the character assassinations the main stream just won’t do.” Some of the stuff on here belongs on HuffPo or DU.
In the Army we called that an “I love me” wall. Festooning one’s office with plaques & certs was fine, especially for the commander.
Just another angle of attack against Dr. Carson, that’s what this is. Nothing less.

I’ll tell the truth - I really don’t react to the color of someone’s skin (sorry to offend those on here that have an aversion to black people) :o) . I was a psychological examiner for 30 years and the first thing I see about a person is his/her behavior.
I don’t give a flip what color Carson is, his life work saved people from death.
What color is saving lives?
