Yes, you read the headline correctly: mild-mannered presidential candidate Ben Carson got very combative and angry during an interview with CNN's Alisyn Camerota.
The confrontation began when Camerota played a clip of Carson joking that "many" Americans were stupid, and asked who he thought were stupid. Carson responded that those who wanted to keep Americans dependent on federal programs were the "stupid" ones as far as he was concerned.
"So, just to be clear, people who support food stamps or Medicaid or welfare..."
"I didn't say that, now you're trying to put words into my mouth," Carson cut in. "Why don't you listen to what I just told you?"
"It sounds like what you're saying are liberals..." she pressed.
"I can't believe that you used to work on Fox News!" an exasperated Carson said.
Camerota used that to pivot to another Carson quote, in which he said "we'd be Cuba" if there were no Fox News. Camerota praised her former network, but asked Carson: "You mean that if Fox News didn't exist, we would be a communist country?"
"No. Again, there you go with sensationalism," he said angrily. "That's what you try to do. You hope somehow that will resonate with people who don't think for themselves. I've got news for you, people are a lot smarter than you think they are, and they know exactly what I'm talking about."

Ben has the media scared
Said it before...very early on...perhaps he's on some kind of meds.
So he doesn’t like people lying about him. But that’s all liberals do.
No one likes to be called stupid.
I remember Hillary saying we were stupid...when she was pushing her health care fiasco during Bubba's administration.
Media shenanigans on display in Frank Capra’s Mr. Smith Goes To Washington (link is cued):

He’s acting like a surgeon. They all have tempers. </stereotype>
Agreed. I know what Dr. Carson is trying to say, but the average Joe out there is going to have a gut reaction, and it will be to take offense.
Now is the perfect time for Ben to remind everyone how CNN and the rest PROTECTED candidate Barack Obama, much less give him the same scrutiny he’s receiving form them.
What a contrast.
Citizens are too stupid to deserve a tax break, they’ll just waste it on something. < /paraphrased Hillary comment >
He’s one of those uppity Republicans...
People who are smarter than this hostess thinks they are don't watch CNN.
He has no trouble mixing it up with the media, he'll call others out, he has knowledge, he defends what he says...but...
I just don't think he has...and I hesitate to use this stupid word, but...gravitas.
He is simply not POTUS material.
He could grow into it, but I don't want somebody to grow into it.
The dumb ass POS we have now is still trying to "grow in to it".
Has nothing to do with race, although I think it may work against him as far as damned democrat nuts are concerned...in that he would be called "Uncle Tom", "Oreo",...all the stupid buzz words.
I just wish he could...well...impress me more.
But I just don't see it.
I used to like her on Fox and Friends. I was upset Gretchen was promoted over her.
But, we cut the cable, so now I don’t see any of them.
I was looking for that too. I can imagine him snapping into combativeness. Not that I think he has issues
But I watched the video
I can say very definitely, he was reasonable, logical, and said all the things I’ve been wanting GOP wimps to say to the media the ideologues that they are
He was not combative
It was a combat interview but he was on defense
That propagandist cams rats was combative for what four solid minutes frightened and speechless meaning talking without tho it not logic
Watch this video
He did not call us stupid
I imagine a drug test might reveal antipsychotic drugs. Our daughter works in a hospital and frequently has to process patients in and out of the mental health wing. She says that Carson’s demeanor and speech is definitely that of someone on mood stabilizing drugs.
Carson is relentless with the media, refusing to allow them to twist his words and put their (progressive) slant on interviews.
Wow. I am impressed, a fearless candidate. This is the real message of the outsiders in this cycle. They are relentless and fearless.
Dr.Carson should have made the following points:
“The MSM is attempting to control the narrative and suppress the truth....just like they do in Cuba.”
“and then YOU attempt to deflect that criticism by accusing me of calling America “communist”.”
Which, of course, is a clear example of my actual charge, that YOU are attempting to control the narrative and suppress the truth....just like they do in Cuba.
Huh? Talk about "not logic!"
