Donald Trump jumps on Marco Rubio's credit card 'disaster' (+ amnesty)
Tampa Bay Times ^ | 11/4/15 | Adam C Smith

Posted on 11/04/2015 12:13:03 PM PST by jimbo123

Near the statue of Daniel Webster below the gold-domed Capitol in Concord, N.H., Donald Trump showed up today to file his paperwork to be on the ballot of the country's first-in-the-nation primary. He wasted no time ripping into Marco Rubio over his use of Florida GOP credit cards for personal use while a leader in the Florida Legislature.

"Marco Rubio has a disaster on his finances, he has a disaster on his credit cards. When you check his credit cards take a look at what he has done with the Republican Party when he had access, what he had to put back in, and whether or not something should have happened," Trump said in answer to a question about today's Tampa Bay Times story concerning the Rubio campaign's plans to release previously undisclosed credit card statements. "You'll understand it. Marco Rubio has a basic disaster on finance. See what you find let's see what kind of reporter you are,"

Then he noted that a New York hedge fund billionaire has put himself behind Rubio's campaign.

"Paul Singer represents amnesty. And he represents illegal immigration pouring into the country, and now he's with Rubio," Trump[ said "Rubio was very in favor of very, very lax rules, He was a member of the gang of eight. the gang of eight means come on in, folks, come on into the country, nobody's going to stop you. Now Rubio's surging in New Hampshire? I don't think so. When you find out the truth about Rubio, you'll check his credit cards from Florida, and you're going to find out how does he feel about illegal immigration."

What I see here is that you are totally illiterate when it comes to finances. Rubio used the Republican Party’s money - maybe illegally for personal use. The banks that loaned money took the risk knowing it could backfire on them. I guess you don’t understand chapter 11 either do you? It doesn’t wipe out the debt, but distributes it for repay through the courts. Duh! And spending $10,000 of the party’s money on a family reunion - come on - get serious. This is co mingling of money and is illegal.

Rubio was over using his GOP issued credit card without repaying the debt while in the Florida State House..

Read the Tampa Bay article. Among the expenses charged to the GOP credit card were van repairs and $10,000 for a family party.

Now where does the FL GOP get its money? Follow the trail back and Rubio betrayed a public fiduciary trust that came with the card. And Senor Rubio is very adept and turning questions into attacks on others when video and sound bites are involved.

Sort of a jv soapbox version of Barrack.

His first foray into Florida politics included the big lie that his father escaped Castro’s oppression in Rubio’s effort to secure the FL Cuban exile vote. But his father applied for his US immigrant visa more than half a year before Castro emerged from Oriente province for his New Year’s Eve assault on Havana.

Rubio is a slippery eel con man with a great rap for his chosen audience. Amnesty, prevarication, and loose wirh other peoples money.

Take a detailed look and drill downbpast the sound bites and GOPe misdirection. Bought and paid for.

He did also hit him on immigration. The dems would use the credit card thing big time on Rubio.

Nope. Neither is getting over-extended on credit.

I am just saying that a candidate that got millions upon millions of dollars over-extended on credit really should not be trying to make a campaign issue about a candidate that got a few thousand dollars over-extended on credit. Sort of like Hillary trying to make a campaign issue about Bernie Sanders being too old or rich.

Again, I am no Rubio fan. I just think it is a mistake for Trump to go there. Just like it would be a mistake for Rubio to try and raise the issue about Trump’s bankruptcies.

You're comparing apples to oranges...not even close to compare....Rubio's the Demorats favorite now as he's bought and paid for.

Additionally..Norman Bramane has bankrolled Rubio’s campaigns. ....and has financed Rubio’s legislative agenda. at the same time, he has subsidized Rubio’s personal finances while Rubio and his wife grappled with heavy debt and big swings in their income.

Actually, many debts get wiped out in Chapter 11 reorganizations. When the creditors do not consent it is referred to as a cram down plan.

I’m fairly certain that Rubio’s credit cards tie him directly to payoffs from the Open Borders people.

Well that’s not exactly what I had in mind....pretty mild as this wasn’t on news cycles...and you can barely hear it...so being a lightweight on the credit card issue when immigration should be really the focus regarding Rubio I’ll stand with.

Trump’s experience with bankruptcy was a strategic and legal use of the bankruptcy laws which addressed specific entities he owned, not his personal finances. The Rubio example falls uncomfortably close to deliberate fraud.

You STILL don't know what you're talking about!

Rubio embezzled money from the state of Florida, has used his GOVERNMENT credit card to throw a reunion party for his family members, has claimed to have repaid/paid for his private charges but hasn't really come clean about it all, and double charged. Who knows what else is involved? Not us....Rubio has closed down/made SECRET the whole mess.

OTOH....declaring bankruptcy is perfectly legal, Trump only did it 4 times for BUSINESS reasons ( one of which was to help out a friend, so the bank loan was NOT his to begin with ! ), and he lives within his means.

Obviously, you don't know the first thing about Rubio.

Are you kidding? You do realize there is a huge difference between use of legal remedies in business and the use of other people’s money for your own personal benefit, don’t you? Marco took funds that belonged to the Republican Party of Florida, for his personal use. He double billed both the taxpayers and the Republican Party for some charges he made. He has never revealed all that he charged on the republican party card. Donations to Fidel Castro, Al Qaida, hookers and strippers, who knows what he’s hiding.

Rubio has no regard for the fact that the money does not belong to him. Imagine what he would do with the US Treasury. If he could, he would use Fort Knox as his own personal stash. Rubio does not understand that our tax money is held by the president in trust because these are the funds of the American people. He won’t defend it. He won’t protect it. If he grows it at all, it will be at our expense and to his own personal benefit and those of his illegal friends.

Rubio is a money grubbing whore. He’s a thief who dances to the tune of the highest payer.

Regardless of what was done - it isn’t co mingling of assets like Rubio has done. Bankruptcy isn’t illegal - co mingling is. This county is in enough deep doo doo financially. We sure don’t need someone who doesn’t know how to balance a checkbook at the helm of this nation. We already have that in bozo.
