Ben Carson has surged into the lead of the Republican presidential race, getting support from 29 percent of GOP primary voters, according to a brand-new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll.
That's the highest percentage any GOP candidate has obtained so far in the survey.
Carson's 29 percent is followed by Donald Trump at 23 percent, Marco Rubio at 11 percent, Ted Cruz at 10 percent and Jeb Bush at 8 percent. These findings are similar to a New York Times/CBS poll released last week, which also showed Carson in first place in the national GOP contest.

Big mistake. Carson is not the leader that Cruz or Trump have visibly demonstrated.
I know a few other Christians who are for him, but I think it’s a trap. They’ll get Hillary.
I’m glad to see Cruz overtake Jeb. Finally.
“For a year, ever since Carson started getting noise, I’ve speculated that he was a vanity candidate and nothing more.”
A vanity candidate rarely tops the polls. It’s easy to make waves and tempting to pursue other interests.
“If he is the nominee Iâll just wont vote for President this time around.”
You would refuse to vote for Carson if he’s the only anti-lefist?
Good heavens. I’ve written some pretty stupid things before. If I understand you correctly, I don’t feel so ashamed.
Shrewd words IMHO:
âWhen foreigners attend our great colleges & want to stay in the U.S., they should not be thrown out of our country...I want talented people to come into this country-to work hard and to become citizens. Silicon Valley needs engineers, etc.â
[IF they acctually ATTEND and take the tests.]
Other countries complain about the ‘Brain Drain’ to the US. That’s a good thing for us.
“The Carson supporters we knew of have come over to Cruz.”
That has a ring of truth to it. We Cruz supporters are willing to support Carson as a compromise over the Jeb-o-bites, and it’s not easy to trust a new convert like Trump as much as Cruz or Carson [who have proven to be rock-ribbed].
But I’m happy if any of those three win — Carson, Trump, or especially Cruz.
I have seen two cars with bumper stickers. One on a dually eith an anti obama sticker and veteran stickers, and one on a young womans econo car.
I don’t get Carsons appeal really, unless it’s just more white guilt and media conditioning people.
Carson will default to big government fixes.
Wow, why is that?
Ok, troll boy.
My wife who was a long time Dem prior to our marriage likes Carson because he’s a nice guy also. Even though she agrees with Trumps policies she just doesn’t like him as a person. Lol
There is no national primary. There is no national presidential race.
I do not like his voting record in the Senate, I don’t like his stand or lack of on illegal immigration, I don’t like the fact that he does things like hand out teddy bears to illegals, I don’t like the fact that his wife is on leave from Goldman Sachs (not quit).
I don’t like that he brags about how he will throw people in jail if he’s elected, how he will support the constitution when I believe his senate votes have made it easier for the next president to ignore it. I haven’t heard him say how he will fix the economy but throwing people in jail or the constitution won’t do it.
I don’t like his position on the middle east or Russia.
I don’t like him telling me how brilliant he is, talking down to me, expecting me to vote for him because he’s such a wonderful Christian or that his mother was a single mother.
I don’t like the way he co-ops what works for Trump and then makes it sound like only he has the courage to do this. I don’t like the fact that he has made himself so hated in the Senate that there is no way he will be able to work with them unless he declares himself king like Obama.
I really don’t like his supporters insulting me if I don’t agree that he walks on water.
Basically, I feel that he’s a dishonest flim-flam artist.
This is just my opinion, intuitive feelings okay. This is a free country, we can support whoever we like.
And I really don’t like the fact that the big money guys figure he is the politician to buy.
“And Carsonâs performance in the debate seems unlikely to have improved his standing significantly. If it did, I cannot imagine what it was. He seemed...limp. It would be like sending overcooked spaghetti into battle.”
Just saw a Carson ad here in Vegas. He comes off as mealy mouthed and weak. I don’t see how he surges.
And BTW, that CBS/NYT poll was totally rigged. It had Cruz at 4% tied with Paul and Kasich.
After that debate, I wouldn’t trust anything NBC had to say about republican candidates.
And this is an NBC poll.
If you voted for Romney (Like I did, holding my nose the entire way), then how could you not vote for Cruz?
Cruz isn’t perfect, but Romney was a raving liberal compared to Cruz.
Despite what the MSM and establishment want you to believe wit a single poll, here's what those averages say:
