nald Trump and his advisers have decided to work directly with television executives and take a lead role in negotiating the format and content of primary debates, which have become highly watched and crucial events in the 2016 race, according to Republicans familiar with their plans.
Trump plans to reject a joint letter to television network hosts regarding upcoming primary debates drafted Sunday at a private gathering of operatives from at least 11 presidential campaigns, the Republicans said.
The move by Trump, coming just hours after more than a dozen Republican strategists huddled in the Washington suburbs to craft a list of possible demands, effectively throttles an effort by the campaigns and the letterâs drafter, longtime GOP attorney Ben Ginsberg, to find consensus and work collectively to negotiate terms.

Who said he never gave her compensation? You are putting words into my mouth. If she wanted to sell he wouldn’t have had to take her to court. This wasn’t a usual real estate deal.
No, that doesn’t make it ok.
I used to know a guy who was going through having some of his property being seized for eminent domain. Poor guy.
Well, la-de-dah. Gee, as long as this enjoyable thread sort of degenerated, I couldn’t resist this one. Who do you “examine” “psychologically”, honey? And who tells you to?
(by the way, your tagline needs a “your” instead of a “you”)
You’re missing the point of the baseball bat story. It’s not about bravery. It’s about stopping a beating. If you were getting beaten with a bat, wouldn’t you want someone to stop it?
Re Cruz and the spotlight. You can’t imagine how glad I was he got it. Finally the Cruz supporters were in a good mood. It was great to see them happy for a change.
Trump didn’t get the house, okay? The lady got to keep it.
SMH.
‘Who said he never gave her compensation? You are putting words into my mouth.’
I wouldn’t do that. You are the one who claimed he didn’t give her anything. Here is your exact quote:
‘She didnât want to sell. She was forced to. He didnât give her anything.’
Can’t blame Trump for this! He knows the RNC wants to control debates so that the anointed Jeb Bush or Rubio will look better than everyone else!
Trump is not about to let that happen!
Oh for Pete’s sake LOL! Read it again.
I was responding to the comment that everything was okie dokie because Trump GAVE her a million. By saying that he didn’t GIVE her anything I meant that it wasn’t a donation. She had to give up her home. Trump’s million wasn’t a gift. That is what I meant. It was supposed to be compensation for what the court’s believe her home was worth.
If she had been willing to sell for a million they wouldn’t have ended up in court.
Sorry for the misunderstanding. This is what is difficult when posting online. Sometimes what is really being said doesn’t translate the same way to everyone.
I’m sure by now the everyone else is bored with our bickering. I will take the blame for not being clear with my words and just leave it at that.
I can be very sarcastic sometimes. I just hope one of us ends up being right. I will be perfectly happy to be wrong about Trump for all of our sakes if he ends up POTUS and saves us all. But right now, I don’t think I am.
Yes!! I would have wanted to stop it too but I would have sent my armed security out there to stop it:)
I have no idea whether he had security with him at the time or not. I said that some people would counter with that as I’ve already seen that comment here on FR in a discussion about this incident.
“I think Iâm the only rational Cruz supporter left on FR!”
I believe there was an FR site poll a while ago and there were more Cruz supporters than any other candidate. You are in good company. I believe the Cruz supporters are the silent majority but they are there.
