I pretty much detest NYC, bloomberg, deblaggio, coomo and his devil offspring, and the whole steenkin’ thing

so why live in Florida? They're all down there.

Congrats to KC....
....This Yankees fan wishes to thank you for a job well done. I was rooting for you. Or perhaps against the Mets is more accurate.

It's interesting that this series played out exactly as the team's strengths would dictate. The Mets had dominant starting pitching, and would have won this series in 4-5 games if baseball games were only six innings long. The Royals improved their chances to win just by getting through the Mets' starters and getting in the bullpen.

I have never liked the Mets, but they have nothing to be ashamed of. This was a phenomenal year for that team. They basically had a AAA-level lineup for most of the year, then they really put everything together at the trading deadline and made a fabulous run down the stretch. They can go into the postseason with their heads up.

Shades of John McNamara from the 1986 Red Sox.

And Grady Little in the 2003 ALCS, leaving Pedro Martinez in the game with a 5-2 lead against the Yankees.

Any day the mets lose is a great day here but when it is the last game of the world series, I just got one thing to say: how sweet it is!

Wait until next April when Mets return to KC.

That’s it for the 2015 MLB season! The @Royals begin their title defense on April 4, 2016, at home...

...against the @Mets.”

It stings today for Mets fans, but that organization has nowhere to go but up right now. Much like the Cubs in the last series, they leave this season with a core to win championships and now experience winning deep into the playoffs.

The Royals would have won last year also, were it not for one pitcher on the Giants roster.

Shouldn't have held Gordon at third in game 7.

Same here, but I remain loyal to my state’s teams. And the Royals did it with the lowest budget in baseball.

It just seems that the Royals were great at closing the game. They were down mid-way most of the time.

The Royals came from behind in seven of their eleven playoff wins. In the series they scored 15 runs in the 8th inning or later to the Mets single run in game one. That's what championship teams do.

Meanwhile a foul darkness has seeped into Maridia’s Temple. I don’t hear you saying anything about that. Where are your priorities KC? Oh sure. Leave it to Volarian! HE’ll go be the instrument of light and rid the foul stench wile KC sits around the Palace drinking his warm milk and having a sweet roll. It’s not like HE has anything better to do...

You Mets fans are so funny.

The last Royals game I attended was three rows behind the Royals dugout with George playing 3rd base. My girlfriend’s parents had season tickets.

Unfortunately, this might be the best the Mets will do unless they get another manager. No manager should ever let one of his players talk him into a decision.

In retrospect, this game was over the moment Terry Collins let Harvey walk out to the mound in the bottom of the ninth inning.

Since those 5 games included a 12 and a 14 inning game, I'd have to agree. The Mets had one superb arm in the bullpen who wasn't on his A game. The Royals had several.

I have to get to work early on Monday morning, so I went to bed in the middle of the 8th inning thinking the Mets had it cinched the way Harvey was pitching. Who knew?

As a double whammy, I lost fantasy football too by benching my streaky backup QB Eli Manning in favor of the usually reliable Aaron Rodgers.

“Unbelievable that Mets Mgr. Collins left Harvey in after that walk. Unheard of, and fatally stupid. Harvey was already far too revved up to calm down, but that should have ended his night. Instead he left him in and put Familia in yet another no-win situation.”

Hindsight is 20/20. Harvey was dominating the Royals and kept them scoreless all game. IIRC the Royals went down 1,2,3 in the eighth so he still looked very effective. All he needed was 3 more outs to win the game so it made sense to keep him in for the 9th. Often in these situations taking the pitcher out leads to losing the game as the reliever gets pounded. IMO whether or not to take Harvey out after the lead off walk is a 50/50 call.
PS I am a Yankee fan and didnt really care which team won.

long delay between the NLCS where the Mets swept the Cubs and the first game of the series, six days later, was a killer- hurt the teams momentum and the pitchers were out of synch...
