Exclusive– GOP Campaigns Agree to Cut RNC Out of Debate Process, Negotiate Directly with Networks
Breitbart ^ | Nov 1, 2015 | Matthew Boyle

The 2016 GOP presidential campaigns agreed on Sunday evening to cut the Republican National Committee (RNC) out of the debate negotiation process and instead deal directly with networks moderating debates, Breitbart News has learned.

Corey Lewandowski, the campaign manager for frontrunner Donald Trump, confirmed to Breitbart News via phone on Sunday that the “biggest consensus” of five separate points the GOP campaigns agreed on was cutting the RNC out of the negotiations with the networks, as the campaigns would each like to negotiate with the networks directly.

In response to the revelation that the RNC will be cut out of the process, RNC chief spokesman Sean Spicer—the party’s point man on handling debates until now—said the RNC stands ready to help the candidates in any way they can.

Well this is gonna upset some liberal Freepers. Guess they will have to go with Jeb to maintain party unity no matter what and rebuild from within and stuff.

The RNC isn't going away - not by a long shot. I think you misunderstand what they do. If Trump really wanted a say in party affairs, he would do what Reagan did, but he is not.

Reagan understood that if the party was going to work for him and not against him, he had to take it over. And he set out to do that and was successful. He organized his local supporters who ran for local positions in the county's party apparatus. His supporters won and replaced establishment type folks in counties all across the nation.

The losers loudly complained about the yahoos taking over who didn't know what they were doing. These people in turn (Reagan supporters) then took over the state RNC committees, which eventually took over the national RNC committee and the RNC worked hard for Reagan. It took a lot of work and effort and it paid off. I don't see any candidate doing anything like that. Cruz seems to be the only one with supporters in place to attempt anything similar...those 77,000 volunteers will become valuable. There are about 3,200 to 3,300 counties in this country, so it's a big job.

I hope Trump’s security is one of the best in the world. Everyone must be after him.

It’s amazing that people like Cain come out and make statements that Trump has no stated positions. These jerks should get off their asses and go to Trimp’s Fn web site! There are some FReepers who may want to do that also.

Next, the “gag order” on not discussing voter fraud needs to be ended, asap!

It's a good first step.

The next step is to cut out the networks!

Hold our OWN debates, just like they do. Give em a feed line and that's it! That's all the control we should give them. Not an inch more!

Lincoln and Douglas did a combination, giving long prepared remarks, followed by long cross-examinations. So there is a place for both, but only if you winnow out some losers.

The Tea Party has been doing exactly this. It is one of the reasons that Republicans are winning at the state level.

Taking over the National party takes time and lots of effort.

If they are serious about reducing the RNC’s power, they will demand an end to open primaries.

I saw a first edition copy of The Art of the Deal going for $70,000!

I bought an original when it first came out, read it, lost it or threw it out, don't know, but just bought the paperback edition from Amazon for $5, free shipping, saved $69,995, now that's truly "The Art of The Deal".
