The highly influential Center for American Progress, which has deep ties to the Obama administration and Hillary Clinton, recently released an extensive report calling for the nation’s lead agency on gun regulation to be merged into the FBI.

The generalities of the center’s 182-page report were widely covered by media upon its release last May. However, the details in the report were largely unmentioned, including by conservative media agencies.

Depends on who the next “ruler” is... I think we’ve already lost America and it’s sinking is rapidly increasing.

I suddenly lost my extensive gun collection and the 20 thousand rounds of ammunition I had. Just taking it across the lake, when our boat tipped over and alas its at the bottom of Lake Woebegone!

Sheeez! And My insurers are begging to pay the claim!

Voting for Reagan would have been a compromise for me—he was divorced.

Quite honestly, that has to be the close to the dumbest reason I've ever heard for NOT voting for a candidate.

>>I see a lot of boating accidents in the future.

When you think that it’s time to bury your firearms (or lose them in a boating accident), that is the time to dig them up and use them! If the civil war doesn’t start on the day that Hillary is inaugurated, then we are a people who really don’t need a Second Amendment anyway.

That’s right - thanks for reminding us of her quote.

“Maxine Waters said that Barack Obama was building the Democrats a comprehensive database on citizens/voters.

She wasn’t joking.

WATERS: Well, you know, I don’t know, and I think some people are missing something here. The president has put in place an organization that contains the kind of database that no one has ever seen before in life. That’s going to be very, very powerful. That database will have information about everything, on every individual, in ways that it’s never been done before.”

I’m conscientiously avoiding large bodies of water when using my firearms.

Beware legislation in states and nationally that require reporting lost or stolen firearms within 72 hours. CT has that and it’ll expand for certain.

If you live in a state that does not mandate going through paperwork for private sales, and you are getting on in years, it will be a contribution to the future to acquire a number of firearms, and make presents of them to loved ones and close friends. When you die, there will be no paperwork as to where the firearms went.

A coworker had his house robbed recently, and lost several firearms.

The police called the ATF, and have the model, make, and serial numbers of guns already.

To think that you can buy a non registered gun is folly. Even if it is a private sale, once you purchase any components or ammo with a identifying purchase (credit card, loyalty card, etc), they have evidence you own it.

Power to never given up without force, i.e. - violence.

This is a ruling class attempt to remain in power. The useful idiots will help in whatever way they can.

The simple math fact is that if all the people that claimed conservatism voted for conservatives, then we would win every time.

They do vote for conservatives...Even Bush is a conservative...Everybody's a conservative...

That title has been used up...It no longer means anything...

RE “....And you just sound evil...”

Knock it off. Same team. Muzzles point OUT of the fighting hole. Norm is on the same team as you and most everyone else here.

You have a difference of opinion. That’s all it is. Don’t let it degenerate.

As far as divorce goes, sometimes people just can’t make it work, no matter how hard they try. To continue to live with someone who is making your life miserable - with no attempt to rectify it at all - is just ridiculous, no matter what you once had together.

RE “...I do not know why we lie to ourselves that somehow we can get rid of tyrants via civil means ...”

Probably because, in typical human nature fashion, people don’t want to have to make tough choices or life-altering decisions.

And there’s also the fact that folks can’t imagine other Americans actually doing this to them; they fail to realize that those that would set this off are “American” in name only; their loyalty is to their Marxist ideology, not to the Country that gave them the chance to be anything they wanted to be.

We, as a whole, have very short, selective memories... and many deliberate distractions.

the Country that gave them the chance to be anything they wanted to be...

That’s what hurts!! alot of very well to do people want us in jail. Why? Our principles are what gave them the chance to become wealthy, not dems.

many want to be the ruling class. Like in the old USSR. And probably current Russia.

many others are just hateful dolts who have no idea what lives would be like in a Marxist state.

my favorite nephew just broke my heart recently by coming out as liberal. EVERY other one is conservative. that figures. I sent him a LONG email exposing the truth on many issues.

He shows me a great deal of respect and said he did read the email and there were some valid points.

i’ll keep trying.

“The ATF’s primary mission is supposed to be to police the illegal market of guns and to target the criminal use of weapons.”

Bull. The ATF is just one of many ways the government uses to get around the Constitution. Who needs to worry about the Constitution when a government-created ABC agency that we the people have ZERO control over can upend firearm laws simply by redefining something.

Five minutes ago, I was for the dissolution of the BATF and the functions brought into the FBI.

No, just abolish the BATF, which should be the name of a convenience store, not a government agency. Also, anyone who has ever worked for the BATF should never be allowed to ever hold a job in government again, as long as they live.

No one is safe as long as these thugs exist. Ask a bunch of bikers in Waco about that. Oh right, you can't. They're dead.
