MSNBC analyst David Corn claims that there are "serious issues" about Ben Carson's Seventh Day Adventism faith. Great point, David. After all, for twenty years, Carson sat in the pews of a preacher who spewed "God damn America" hatred, a pastor that Carson chose to officiate his marriage and baptize his children. Oh, wait: that wasn't Carson. It was Barack Obama, who chose Jeremiah "Chickens Coming Home to Roost" Wright as his personal pastor and faith guide. Never mind.
On this evening's Hardball, Corn claimed that Carson's religion needs to be investigated because it professes an end time. Guess what, David? All the Abrahamic religions do: Christianity, Judaism and Islam. It's not a question of if, only when. So take your religious bigotry elsewhere, Corn.

From the stand point of the Presidential race, SDA’s teach Pacifism, only serving in non combatant roles in the military. Pacifism would seem to make it impossible for Carson to be an effective Commander in Chief.
Ike may have been raised J.W., but he didn’t practice it in adulthood. J.W’s do not vote, hold political office, serve in the military, salute the flag or recite the pledge of allegiance.
I used to see that jagoff on Fox News, this was like over 10 years ago.
Sadly I’ve seen freepers call Carson’s church a cult, one fellow was hung up on the “heresy” of thinking the sabbath was Saturday.
His friends down at the bathhouse call him “hole”.

Don’t know if you have ever heard of a book, “Kingdom of the Cults”. Read it many years ago. A cursory search of the subject also reveals that SDA’s are considered one of the four major cults in the world today, along with Christian Science, Mormonism and Jehovah’s Witnesses.
From the standpoint of the influence of faith on the Presidency, the fact that SDA’s are taught Pacifism would seem to make it impossible for Carson to be an effective Commander in Chief. SDA’s served in the military only in non combatant roles until the draft and Vietnam made it sometimes impossible.
When I was young I dated a guy with the last name Corn for awhile. He wanted to marry me but I turned him down. That last name was part of the decision.

I had a brother who got into J.W.s through his wife’s insistence. Thank God he got out before he died.
Nixon was a Quaker so I say “yawn” to “his church teaches pacifism”. He swore his POTUS oath too, Quakers aren’t supposed to swear.
The Catholic church teaches “pro-life”, you’d never know it from the Catholic democrats.
Jehovah’s Witnesses are completely nutso and ARE a cult, imo it’s unfair to compare Carson’s 7th dayers and even the modern LDS church to them.
Overall my thought’s on this is “much ado about nothing”. Plenty of people call Catholicism a cult. That fellow hung up on the Saturday thing was a Catholic and he seemed to think all Protestant denominations were cults.

A sect that teaches Jesus was the Archangel Michael, a teaching that SDA’s and J.W.s share, is a Cult.
I don’t agree that Pacifism will not effect Carson’s ability to be Commander in Chief. He has said that his first response to fighting ISIS would be to do so through economic means.
Carson as President is an engraved invitation to our enemies attack us. They can smell weakness.
I don’t have TV, so I rarely hear candidates speak. I heard Ben Carson for the first time about three weeks ago.
That ended him for me. He could play the voice of Pajama Boy.
Sorry to sound so shallow, but his voice and vocal inflections are so bad it’s actually an issue for me.

Just like the media was saying Kennedy would listen to the pope? Religion aside, I bet Carson would try his best not to involve our military but when it’s necessary he’d do it.
If Carson were President he would have to make a decision very quickly about using the military. Our Enemies can smell weakness and Carson is Weakness Personified.
