...would let her off easy WRONG!
A Georgia #BlackLivesMatter activist, who posted video threats against police, didnt get any special treatment just because her judge was also a black woman.
Clayton County Magistrate Judge Wanda Dallas didnt buy Latausha Nedds argument that she was just exercising her First Amendment rights by waving a gun and a machete at the camera in her videos, and calling for blacks to take police officers guns, take over a police station, and kill white people.
Dallas slapped Nedd with $70,000 bail, and declared that charges of criminal solicitation and terroristic threats should go forward.
Atlantas WSB-TV showed parts of the nearly 14 minutes of video that prosecutors played in court.
In her remarks, the judge slammed the defendant, who was arrested on September 24 after her videos were emailed to authorities, telling her that more violence to protest violence gets us nowhere. She also imposed strict conditions, including that Nedd cannot post videos online while awaiting trial.
Nedds lawyers argued that the videos were hacked from an online video chat room and not intended to go viral all over the web. Her father, who works for police department in Long Island, New York, also testified on his daughters behalf.
My daughter is no way a threat toespecially police officers, he told the station.
Fellow activists have flocked to Nedds defense.
Project South, a bottom-up movement building for social and economic justice, according to its website, wrote on its Facebook page that Latausha is a well-loved and committed community activist who has worked with several local organizations over the last eight to ten years. She is an artist, a musician, a singer, and an organizer.
The statement continued, if her words and expressions of rage are allowed to be understood as criminal or terroristic, not only is her life and well-being threatened, the future of our collective liberation faces deep, complicated challenges.
Judge Dallas disagreed: collective liberation doesnt justify waving guns into a camera while making threats to kill white people. And thats good news for the rest of us whose lives also matter.
She’s also the charming creature who, in her Eye Empress Sekhmet persona, was photographed standing on the American flag.
Her policeman father defends her terrorist tactics.
Well, the Buckwheat stops here, Miss Thang.
These fools forget that the Blacks who escape the Hood and become cops and judges often hate thugs even more than any white bigot.
I was never familiar with this blind, parental love growing up. I am very certain my folks, especially my mother, would have disowned me out of shame.
How true. We lived in a mixed neighborhood in Spring Valley, NY. Many of our Black and Latino neighbors came from the South Bronx, Bushwick and other such places. They knew all to well what life is like having to deal with thuggery on a day to day basis.
Yes because they dont want themselves to be unjustly represented by those people.
Disowned? My parents would have beaten the living tar out of me. But nowadays, discipline is out and coddling is in.
Bigot: “a person who is intolerant toward those holding different opinions.”
I think it is mostly un-bigoted folks who hate thugs. White bigots typically are lefties who hate white people who they wrongly call racists. In other words, today, bigotry is mostly directed against white persons for their reasonable opinions.
"If you EVER break the law and shame our family, you better pray to God Almighty the deputies catch you before I do."
I believed her.
Good for you, Wanda Dallas.
One small point.....the article says hwr dad works for a police dept....that doesn’t necessarily mean he is an officer.
He could be a clerk or a janitor working for the dept..
Be careful what you wish for, Latausha.
I told my children they would be begging the judge to save them...from me if they ever did anything that got them in court.
I also get the feeling you and I doing the same thing except talking about blacks would have us locked up for a pretttty long time, with no bail
I wouldn’t have been disowned, but I would have been beaten sensless for such views

She’s an artist, musician, singer and songwriter... basically an unemployed government entitlement leach.
