GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump claimed credit Sunday for Ford Motor Company's plans to move a production plant from Mexico to Ohio.
Trump has been calling out Ford during his campaign, saying the automaker plans to move jobs from Michigan to Mexico, but Ohio Gov. John Kasich, who also is seeking the Republican presidential nomination, says the move from Mexico to Ohio had nothing to Trump's demands. "The truth is that Ford began moving jobs back to Ohio four years ago under the leadership of Governor John Kasich," the governor's campaign said in a statement to the press on Sunday night.
"Our country needs real leadership and not empty, false rhetoric," Kasich said. "Working as a team, we brought Ford production jobs back from Mexico to Ohio years ago. That's how things really get done. Hard work and teamwork brings results for the people."
When Kasich announced Ford was bringing the jobs to Ohio in 2011 the vice president of Ford North America Manufacturing said it was "enabled by the Governor and his strong leadership," the campaign noted.

> “I understand full well that you think Trump wins simply because of his message.”
Sorry, but I don’t believe you. I don’t believe you understand much of anything, although I’m sure you will badger anyone willing to listen including a street lamp post that you understand everything fully.
> “But the point of this article is that ....”
There is no point to the article. It is a hit job, one of hundreds and hundreds that continuously fail. All of it fails because the underlying message remains crystal clear.
**************************************
Donald Trump is like Babe Ruth at bat.
The media is like a pitcher rubbing spit onto the ball in preparation for throwing the pitch.
Donald swings and misses and the fans of the opposing team go crazy. Another pitch is thrown and another swing and miss. The opposing fans are dancing in the aisles.
Trump’s fans remain calm in their seats with the silent satisfaction of knowing that their hero is the best there is.
Next pitch is hit long long over the fence.
Media had their little spot of euphoric bliss, but it did not matter. The underlying power of the message overwhelmed them.
If the media and their sycophants on chat boards want to win, they have to produce a champion whose message resonates more powerfully than that of Donald Trump’s. They can’t do it.
Don’t know how to make any clearer than that.
Im sorry but I dont believe you. From everything I have read on the son of a mailman (and Ive read a lot), he was not getting anywhere in his talks with Ford.
This was incorrect, because Kasich had succeeded in bringing the truck production lines to Ohio. When that was pointed out, you responded by posting:
Well the recent news is that Ford was scrapping its plans for the 2.5B plant in Mexico. That was the headline. If that news is accurate, then it has nothing to do with Ford moving truck lines to Ohio. It can only be attributed to Trumps frontrunner status and his credible threat to put a hurt on Ford if they continue building plants in Mexico.
"If that news is accurate" indeed. Unfortunately, that news was NOT accurate. And yet, when that was pointed out you responded with the first of your many insulting posts:
Youre not very smart are you? Sorry you didnt get the education you should have.
The news was reported by CNN Money. But CNN is out to get Trump as are the Washington Post and RedState.
For analysis suppose they baited Trumps people into believing Ford cancel the 2.5 B plant in Mexico.
Then, when I pointed out that there was no way the media had "baited" Trump--because the media had not reported anything about the 2.5B plant, only one moronic no-name blogger, which Trump picked up on--you continued your string of insults, and turned completely away from the 2.5B plant:
It doesnt matter who reported it although it was attributed to CNNMoney. It doesnt matter because Trump still wins. Thats what you dont get. The message from the Trump brand is America First!. Thats what the voters hear. No one gives a damn about your pointless he said-they said rant. It doesnt matter. That you cant see the above should give reason to pause and reflect. But then that would be a sign of learning and we all know a definition of stupid is an inability to learn.
So, you started talking about the 2.5B plant and giving Trump credit for Ford scrapping it. And as soon as it was pointed out that Ford had not scrapped it, you immediately pivoted and said that it doesn't matter because Trump wins anyway. That is some impressive spin - almost Trump-like, even.
The article is a "hit job" because it points out that Trump falsely claimed credit for something that never happened. And you didn't seem to think there was "no point" when you also credited Trump for Ford's decision. It was only AFTER I (and others) pointed out that Ford had not scrapped the 2.5B plant that, suddenly, it no longer mattered whether Ford had scrapped the plant.
But keep spinning and insulting. It's what you people do best.
Ok you’re not contributing anything here.
You’re a sore loser because your vaulted anti-Trump report is not doing the magic you want. So you have nothing to offer other than a continued rant.
I tried telling you that these things don’t matter because Trump’s message is valued by the voters.
But you won’t listen.
Now stop posting to me and don’t bother me anymore. I hope that’s clear.
Jennifer Lawrence. Very lovely young actress.
So, if it happened, then it matters, but if it didn't happen, then it doesn't matter? It's almost like you will find a way to spin anything to support Trump. Delusional.
In other words "LALALALALALALAA I CAN'T HEAR YOU LALALALALAALA"
The last resort of a delusional Trumpette. So sad.
I am a little confused, is the Ford plant that Mr. Trump was talking about still being built in Mexico or did Kaisch change Ford’s mind into moving it to Ohio?
Several new Ford plants are being built in Mexico. They will build engines, transmissions, and other parts. Ford Focus and C-Max production is also being moved to Mexico.
Ford F650/750 production moved from Mexico to Ohio and was in planning since 2011. It came on line this year.
Ok... I get what the subtext is here. Another anti Trump knocker....
Carson or Cruz... yeah that’s the ticket...
I heard Trump today, Monday, and he was also stressing that he has hired thousands of people for his projects/business including LEGAL Mexicans. Has any word gone out on how many candidates will be in the next debate/showcase?
The UAW is responsible for the 1,000 jobs moving to Ohio, and Ford is still planning to move significant other jobs to Mexico.
Detroit Free Press: Trump blows claim he reversed Ford's Mexico plans
"In a statement Monday morning, Ford said it has made no changes to its plans to invest $2.5-billion at two sites in Mexico where it could hire as many as 3,800 people to build engines and transmissions. Ford had also been rumored to be moving production of the Focus and C-Max to Mexico as well."
"Ford was moving production of the F-650 and F-750 medium-duty trucks from Mexico to Ohio, preserving more than 1,000 jobs as part of a deal negotiated with the UAW four years ago."
"But that was distinct from the $2.5-billion to be invested in Mexico for the new plants and the possibility of moving production of the Focus and C-Max, which remained a sore point for the labor union."
In this case, both Trump and Kasich were the rooster taking credit for the sunrise.
