Rove to GOP: 'Don't choose a nominee that reflects populist outrage'

Longtime political strategist Karl Rove is warning Republicans not to nominate a presidential candidate that reflects the same "populist anger" that gave birth to the rise of Donald Trump.
In his latest op-ed for the Wall Street Journal, Rove explained the GOP will have two choices when delegates gather in Cleveland, Ohio, next July to determine which remaining Republican hopeful they wish to see challenge Democrats in the general election.
"Will the party choose a nominee with a conservative agenda or one reflecting populist anger?" Rove wrote.
"The two are hardly the same," he noted. "Conservative principles provide a winning path to the White House. Populist outrage alone will end in defeat."

I was thinking of the populist student protesters from my youth, I also think of the populist Black Power movement and the newer version :Black Lives Matter,
Say, that's a pretty good dodge there, do you think those malcontents were who Karl Rove was talking about in his puerile sputtering that this thread is discussing?
Here's a clue: no they weren't.
Or Ross Perot and his brand of populism or the populist group that swept Obama into power.
Here's another clue, Rove wasn't talking about Ross Perot's supporters OR the Obama zombies in 2008 and 2012 either. But you get partial credit for trying to be sly and walk back your comment in post #78 when you initially said:
Show me where populist rage has accomplished something
And you KNOW that you were not talking about student protesters, Black Panthers, Perot supporters or Obama groupies, and you know how I know that?
Because when I responded to you in my post #82, in which I posted a graphic representation of the American Revolution of 1776, YOU responded with your own graphic at your post #104, which depicted executions taking place during the French Revolution (1787-1799 when you said "and here, not so good" suggesting that 'populist rage' didn't always turn out so well, so based on THAT post you made, the last thing on your mind was any group of student protesters, Black Panthers, etc.
Please pardon me for thinking
You were thinking too hard, trying to figure out how to explain away your previous posts in this thread. Guess what? It didn't work.
I know its not popular on FR any more. If you decide to take it up (thinking) we might have a conversation
Don't kid yourself and don't try playing the victim here, FReepers are thinking harder and more intently than ever before, and they are seeing the reality of the institutional betrayal from the GOPe establishment and their rigged primary games, plus the political collusion between the 'RATS and RINOs that has manifested itself in what we commonly refer to as the 'UniParty'.
So here is your final clue pal:
"We The People of the United States are MAD AS HELL,
and we're not gonna take it anymore!!"

Love Rove or hate him, he came up with the brilliant exurbia voting strategy to re-elect Goerge W Bush in 2004. We best follow that same plan in 2016 because the cities are rife with massive rat voter fraud. Only exurbia voters can overcome the crooked Soros voting machines.

“Article: Will the party choose a nominee with a conservative agenda or one reflecting populist anger? Rove wrote.”
The party will chose neither, just another RINO.
The people will chose both, as you said.

That was the day I tore up my “security moms for Bush” tshirt and used it as a car rag. And I sent the Minutemen heroes on the border $100.

Of course. Then we could have another victory like we had in 2008 and 2012.

Actually, that was in Delaware. Senator Coons was elected when Rove’s candidate, an incumbent GOP-E Congresscritter Michael Comrade Castle was defeated by Christine O’Donnell in the GOP primary. Michael Castle combined the social issue revolutionary views of Margaret Sanger, with the general philosophy of Chairman Mao with the obligatory obeisance to the crony “capitalists” who line Rove’s pockets regularly. Rove led the attack of the wild-eyed GOP-E banshees against an underfunded O’Donnell. MONEY: with the GOP-E it is ALWAYS about money.

No change. Your eyes simply were opened to what Rove has always been.

Dole is still alive. My dad shook his hand in DC when he was there with the Honor flight this past summer. I have a picture of them. Dole meets the veterans from the flights.
He is in a wheelchair, very frail. I think he is in his 90’s.
