According to Bloomberg, the increasingly left-wing ESPN sports network has been forced to cut 350 jobs due directly to subscriber losses, which is also known as cord cutting. Early estimates were between 200 and 300 job cuts after parent company Disney ordered ESPN to cut $100 million from its 2016 budget.
In just over a year, as customers cut their cable cords and move to streaming television services like Netflix, as of August, ESPN had lost a whopping 3.2 million subscribers.

Yeah, it’s tough to let go 7 of my 500 channels.
We just hate the endless commercials on regular TV. After you watch your favorite programs for two years without commercials its hard to go back.
maybe they can get rid of whole bunch of their loud arrogant sports “reporters”....
LOL, that’s just how we feel.
In fact all of the Media is East Coast centric, us folks in Flyover country are just rubes compared to the Enlightened ones more prevalent in coastal cities..

That’s a shame...
You do realize that many of the documentary channels are available through Internet streaming without cable and satellite TV?
ESPN has tanked as they became more political and lefty. Just do sports, man. Leave the politics to the political channels.
The ONLY reason we have any landlines at all is for high speed DSL(phone)Internet, which isn’t all that fast. Since we live in a virtual No Man’s Land, we do have ‘satellite’ based TV for the 3 or so channels that we actually watch. Tried ‘satellite’ internet - Speeds were ok, but the DL caps killed it for us.
Maybe the telephone company will eventually update/upgrade our DSLAM to provide us with a faster connection.....
Why dont they cut some of the worn out walking dead types ... like Boomer aka Chris Berman ....that guys stick is worn out ... and he should be put out to pasture .... Ill bet he is paid a ton...
The NFL Network is kicking ESPN’s butt .. Im not a fan of Eisen but the overal NFL Network is better than ESPN ....
When these a holes broadcast the inauguration of our affirmative action president I stopped watching or reading their cr@p.
FX has some shows I really enjoy, but other than that... nah.
To top things off, I've got a great source for bootleg movies now. Who needs cable?
Well, the leftist politics and stellar sports programming like Spelling Bees and Hot Dog Eating Contests.
gets confused after first receiver is covered. oh well. he’s rich, handsome, religious, he’ll have a better life than me lol
Well, Im as east coast as it gets, and there are too many elitist liberal rich jerks than i can count.
But mom’s still and needs me and staten island is its own little conservative world lol
i can think of some
With Sling TV (which has ESPN and many basic cable channels for as low as $20), I'll probably switch soon. Once everything is in place, I'll probably save about $100 per month but is going to cost around $400 to get my replacement system set up (OTA antenna, tuner, hard drive, streaming device, amplifier, etc.).
I have only 1 landline for that incase of emergency because sometimes I forget to recharge my cellphone.
Espn is horrible. Lame commercials, leftist politics, unethical announcers, and radio hosts who love to hear their voices.
Today I searched for ten minutes for the Jays baseball game on the interne because John Sciambi is their resident professional announcer. Sadly I could not find Espn’s live announcing. Weird. Looked on six Espn pages and no baseball. Espn is a waste of time.
