They’re not really rendering a judgement over whether guns would have helped Jews, or not.

They want people so terrified that when a subject like this comes up, people or maybe entities like the FBI have to come to the ADL and PAY them to render THEIR HOLY JUDGEMENT.
The only ones outraged are leftist Jews who think that the Holocaust was A OK..Hitler said “In order to control a nation one must disarm its citizens” if Jews during the Holocaust had guns, there would have been NO Holocaust

Carson is RIGHT!
Ask any of the gun-grabbers why Hitler did NOT invade Switzerland. Gee! All that gold! And a chance to end that “haven” for the Trapp family and other refugees from Nazism! So tempting!

As a Jew born and raised in the US and living in Israel, I could not agree more with Dr. Carson on this point. He is correct and the liberal/left-wing Jewish groups are wrong.
Steve Israel is doing what all leftists do when they cannot refute a political statement by a non-leftist.
He changes the premise of the statement by inferring that guns in the hand of the German Jews in the 1930’s could have prevented the Holocaust. However, that is NOT what Dr. Ben Carson stated. Carson said that tyranny such as Nazi Germany and the Holocaust might have been prevented entirely had not that government confiscated the means of opposition, that is, the ability to defend themselves by owning their own guns.
Leftists still insist on claiming that all Germans were anti-Semitic, but that is simply not true. Israel is correct to state that the Holocaust was an abomination caused by anti-Semitism, but Carson’s position is that in the face of such evil, [like anti-Semitism], the confiscation of guns from all the people rendered them helpless - both the Jews and those who were good Christians or other people of humanitarian sentiments.
So the position of these liberal Jews is that having the means to defend oneself would’ve made no difference. Perhaps they should run that one by the descendants of those who fought for their lives in the Warsaw ghetto.
In their twisted minds, submissively walking to their deaths in the ovens was preferable.

It is one of the most inspirational events of the modern age.

I couldn’t find a link, because this happened a long time ago in MA, so I will just relate from my memory of the incident.
Sylvia, an elderly Holocaust survivor, had a lovely store that sold high-end antiques and collectibles in the Boston area.
Some thugs came into the store to rob her.
She probably dispatched them with her pistol, which she had behind the counter.
She was not prosecuted, and proudly went on TV and said “After putting up with the nazis, you think I’m gonna be scared of those little punks?”
We need more folks like that among us.
The ADL and Holocaust Museum might want to rethink their position.
