Rep. Charlie Dent Calls For "Bipartisan Coalition" To Select New Speaker(Out of touch RINO)
real clear politics ^ | 10/8/15

Republican Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy stunned House colleagues when he announced that he would withdraw from the race to be the next House Speaker. In the immediate aftermath, Rep. Charlie Dent says "anything is possible now."

To get anything done "we might have to assemble a bipartisan coalition, that’s the reality of this place," Dent told CNN moments after McCarthy withdrew from the race.

REP. CHARLIE DENT: The next Speaker should not appease those who make unreasonable demands. There are a number of members of our conference. You cannot get the yes on anything. For them the end will be the good.

In my view it's come time to marginalize those members who doesn't want to be part of the governing majority.

I've said for some time that in order to pass anything out of the House we need to assemble a bipartisan coalition whether it's on the continuing resolution, the debt ceiling, we will have to assemble a bipartisan coalition. That's the reality of this place and I don't think that any of our leaders should make accommodations to those who are going to make unreasonable demands...

I don't know what will happen. Anything is possible now. It's pretty clear to me that a number of us are not going to simply appease or exceed to those who will make unreasonable demands. And so I suspect in order to govern around here we need a bipartisan coalition on all major bills.

Non-stop idiocy from the RINOs. He is too stupid to even understand what he is saying when he says it is unreasonable to have a budget instead of continuing resolutions, it is unreasonable to NOT increase the debt ceiling.

No wonder the GOPe are trying to lose the American people. They believe almost exactly what the liberals believe. American citizens are there to serve the whims of a Government.

let’s see...
Bipartisan Republicans
Democrats
No difference. ‘Progressive’ agenda full steam ahead!
Can anyone name an instance where Conservatives were NOT compromised? Name any little bone thrown to us in the past 10 years?

Yeah, sure - a ‘bipartisan coalition’ that leaves out entirely the will of conservatives.

Nice.

Its the voice of a GOPe hack who has been bought and paid for by K-Street. To talk about marginalizing a part of his coalition, (representatives doing what their constituents want), is a disgrace.

Pete King is another RINO big mouth. Listening to him bellow all day on local TV to “get rid of the extremists” in the party.

This all goes to show how imbedded the donor class lobbyists have become in the national GOP.

They feel it slipping away from them.

They are, because bipartisan simply means giving the Democrats almost everything they want. This while having the largest Republican majority in nearly 100 years. Nothing like holding a full house and folding to the person with a pair of fours.

Non-stop idiocy from the RINOs.

Yeah but think of all those precious moderate, independent, and Hispanic voters we'll get next year. See, we're inclusive and tolerant!

The old Soviet Union used to maintain the fiction they had political parties, too.

There were factions that caucused under different names, but they all voted the same way when there was a “suggestion” that came from the top.

Not really a representative republic. But it was “democratic”.

Mr Dent are you insane?
Do you think the Democrats would EVER allow the GOP to have any type of say over who their speaker is?

Enough RINO defectors and the Dems could elect a Speaker. Think that'd spin anyone up? :-)

He already votes with the dems 2/3rds of the time, why go through the lie of calling himself a Republican?
