CDC: Salmonella outbreak hits 35 states [Mexican cucumbers]

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is looking into a multi-state outbreak of Salmonella Poona after linking the outbreak to imported cucumbers.
The CDC reported the outbreak has impacted 732 people from 35 states as of Tuesday. Four deaths have been attributed to the outbreak, according to the CDC.
Symptoms include diarrhea, fever and abdominal cramps that can last four to seven days.

Long ago I attended grade school in a farm community. I can still remember the teacher explaining the development of good farming in America. The kids really took that stuff in because it was their livelihood.

We’ve been eating our own home grown cukes as well. They petered out a month ago and the new seedings didn’t make so hoping this current crop will make before cold weather. Doubt it. I’ll do without before buying from the store.
