Last year the Supreme Court decided several momentous cases involving some of America's most contentious topics, including same-sex marriage and Obamacare. The new term, which begins Monday, is also full of controversial cases that could help shape the emerging identity of the Roberts court and affect the direction of the country.

Ya mean............
..............which way will “Justice” Kennedy lean—Don’cha??
The Supreme Court is now the grammar-checking, law-rewriting, propaganda-reviewing arm of the Progressive wing of the Democrat party.
IMHO
If the past is any indication, the decisions will SUCK.
Abortion, birth control, race top Supreme Court’s agenda
Abortion & Obamacare weren’t mentioned in the LA Times piece (unless I missed it)
These Justices need to be periodically reviewed for suitability. The story states that one of the cases involves the death penalty, which it claims Breyer looks prepared to rule to be unconstitutional - even as the 5th Amendment implicitly permits it.
Amendment X
“The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people.”
Prohibition had to be enacted through Amendment, because it was once believed that Congress, thanks to the above, did not have the power to legislate such matters for the States.
Now, however, we have a Court (or a majority of five justices) who usurp the power of both Congress and the States, to legalize abortion, probably outlaw the death penalty. legalize gay marriage, etc. etc.
All hail the new oligarchs.
(But where do they get the authorization to do any of this?)
Exactly. The Supreme Court has lost all credibility. We will need to change the constitution to fix it, otherwise the states need to just immediately nullify whatever they say.
Time to get some of this crap reversed.

The Anti-Federalists warned us of the flaw in the Constitution that federal judges could progressively, slowly, one baby step at a time gather power unto themselves until they would become uncontrolled law makers.
The Ant-Federalist Papers are more prophetic than the Federalist Papers, for sure:

Ronald Reagan’s Kennedy will again keep the liberal ship afloat. All that needs to be said
Yup! The country is being run by 9 unelected judges.
The “high court” has full credibility with the American people who consistently vote for candidates consistent with the liberal judges.
Don’t blame the Framers. We’ve had 225 years to correct original errors.
It is why an Article V state convention to propose amendments should be an annual event.
Could someone give a synopsis so those of us with limited internet resources can avoid the LA times clickbait?
Ping to #17.
I think it is about time for the States to declare the opinions of the SCOTUS null and void in said state and they will not be enforced. Why not? Many are clearly unconstitutional and the Department of Injustice picks and chooses which laws to enforce. Do we have a Governor out there with any balls?
