Will do. Many years ago, we used to have a small parcel of land in Sutherlin, when it was a very small town, probably still is. Our relatives lived there and owned a business for many years. They also had a wonderful place on the Umpqua where our kids fished and played. Such a horrible situation, prayers for all.

I think that is true in many professions where you deal with death and horror on a regular basis. Cops, health care, judicial, teachers.

Read up on how military and first responders joke about horror. It's not callous, it's a natural coping mechanism to keep the trauma at arms length. Trying to stop it is a perfect example of how political correctness directly harms people. Granted, it can be taken too far. But a little bit helps keep balanced.

Indeed, the late John Allen Muhammad. Very much a black man. Hard for me to forget him since I have often shopped at the very same Home Depot where he and Lee Malvo murdered poor Linda Franklin.

In fact, his murderous spree stretched out for more than a week, and his victims were separated by as much as fifty miles.

Didn’t forget about it at all. Just that it was more like a targeted hit against people known to the perp, not a typical mass shooting.
