In a classroom exercise that has ignited outcry from the public, students at a Texas high school were given a questionnaire asking if their families owned guns, why their families owned guns and how their parents lean politically.
Called The Hawk 2015 Gun Survey, an estimated 100 students in a journalism class at Hendrickson High School in Pflugerville, Texas were given the survey in an attempt to start a dialogue on the Second Amendment. Instead, parents and Second Amendment activists across the country labeled the survey as invasive.

One often hears “We can’t afford to homeschool.”
What we can’t afford is public education and leftist indoctrination therein.
If parents have made such foolish choices that they need two incomes to make ends meet, they should sit down and work on making the ends a little closer together. Mortgages and second cars are not necessary to life; neither is cable tv; nor dining out, nor entertainment, nor smoking, nor hobbies. All those things are somewhere on a list of priorities along with children’s education and the fate of this nation.
A person could quit working, go on welfare and still be able to homeschool, given the will to do so. If the kids are in public school, they’re already on welfare. It’s just in a more “respectable” form. Respectable to the low-informed.
Nelson Pete Shields hoped to have handguns banned by 1979. He failed.

Im convinced that we have to have federal legislation to build on. Were going to have to take one step at a time, and the first step is necessarily given the political realities going to be very modest.
Of course, its true that politicians will then go home and say, This is a great law. The problem is solved. And its also true that such statements will tend to defuse the gun-control issue for a time.
So then well have to strengthen that law, and then again to strengthen that law, and maybe again and again. Right now, though, wed be satisfied not with half a loaf but with a slice. Our ultimate goal total control of handguns in the United States is going to take time.
My estimate is from seven to ten years. The problem is to slow down the increasing number of handguns sold in this country. The second problem is to get them all registered. And the final problem is to make the possession of all handguns and all handgun ammunition except for the military, policemen, licensed security guards, licensed sporting clubs, and licensed gun collectors totally illegal.

Yes, Im for an outright ban [on handguns].

HCI, around 1984, came out in favor of a ban on semi-auto rifles and shotguns.
Some smart-alecky freshman is sure to answer “755, and most of them are full auto”, triggering a BAFTA SWAT raid ending in tragedy and egg all over Fed faces.
You could ask ask “ who did you vote for in the last election?”
I had a similar “dialog” with the VAMC a few years back.
They sent me to Mental Health’ because that is the Dept. that handles prescriptions for the Meds the VA says I need to take to appear more “like everybody else.” (I have seizures— and am diagnosed as bi-polar.) I spent nearly 8 yrs as an Army Medic trained to defend our Constitution and Country against ALL enemy foreign or domestic. The Second Amendment was deemed necessary to protect America from Tyranny. To protect our freedom from being subject to the kind of government known in Europe. “A well regulated Militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed.” I asked the college girl /social worker if she understood the Second Amendment and was told “a lot of people think the Second Amendment doesn’t apply to people like you.”My response That’s not what the Second Amendment declares. END OF DISCUSSION. The enemy does not desire a discussion — they expect submission.”I will NEVER surrender of my own free will.
The answer every student should have put for question 1:
Name and grade (Optional): John Galt
How about:
Some animals are more equal than others
“None of your business” is a better answer.
“This action in effect is a quasi-governmental end run around that”
I was thinking that myself. And also so they know what students to focus on when indoctrination time comes.
We shouldn’t make any mistake about things like this at all. They are direct probing attempts to inch gun control into our lives under the guise of “for the children”.
These people, educators, doctors, employers have NO BUSINESS questioning us about our Second Amendment rights. NONE. When they are encountered, the should be met vehemently with rigor and all actions short of violence necessary to make them stop this.
Does anyone here think if a journalist were given a similar “survey” from a governmental organization that got into personal details, beliefs and political persuasions they’d sit still for it even for a second? Hell no.
You are right on. Instead of telling kids to turn in their parents directly as Hitler did they go PC and try to use a “simple survey”. Same purpose.
No people DON’T deserve this from their school district. They deserve an administration who will stand up for what is right. Taxpayers need to start getting good local conservative candidates for school board. Then they can reject non-sense funding demands placed on their districts. If $ comes up short for academic issues, well just maybe funds can come from athletic coffers.
This questionnaire as far as I can tell isn’t on any official letterhead of any school district. Probably some maggot academic liberal teacher who ought to be told to pound sand, put on leave w/o pay, or fired for such cr@p.
“I asked the college girl /social worker if she understood the Second Amendment and was told a lot of people think the Second Amendment doesnt apply to people like you.
Little fascist bitch!
Careful, FRiend, you’re in a watch list database. I’m retired military & I went to the VA, once. They think we’re ALL nuts!
FWIW some of my fellow Vietnam vets gamed the system to qualify disabled with PTSD. That also put them on the “shouldn’t have guns” list.
“Does your family own guns?” - Yes
“How many guns?” - Lots
“Why does your family have guns?” - Because Banzini tried to whack Papa.”
Anymore questions> - “No.....”
I would have taken this survey out to my local gun range and answered it by punching holes into it.
Just think of the teacher’s response if there was a .22 hole in yes block of “Does your family own any guns?”
I would answer the second question with a shot from every different caliber gun in the house with an attachment to cover shotguns.
Then I would attach a questionnaire for the teacher to answer. If she wants to pry into my Constitutionally protected life why shouldn’t I have the same right - equal protection under the law after all.
Oh, geez...if you returned that gun survey form shot full of holes, they would have SWATd your @zz soooo fast!
School principal would take that to a judge & say, “Dangerous parent, he has guns, my school is in danger.”
“OK, Ms. Prissy, I’m forwarding this warrant to the PD right now. Don’t you worry.”
To the prohibitionists: Go for it - there are roughly 400 million guns in this country. Have fun...but make sure that you all have updated wills and paid-up insurance policies.
