The Russian military build up continues as six Su-34 Fullback attack planes arrive in Syria.
Six Sukhoi Su-34 aircraft have eventually arrived at Latakia to join the Russian contingent already there.
Images allegedly shot around the al-Assad International Airport clearly show one Russian Fullback about to land at the airbase in western Syria where 28 Russian aircraft have arrived last week.
One of the photos taken from the ground shows the six aircraft trailing what seems to be an airliner over Idlib: the larger plane is probably a Russian Air Force Tu-154.

Hey Ivan: GIT SOME! (For me.)
Na Zdrovia, Bro!
ALAS, BABYLON!...........................
Hardly ;)
I suspect it will be Russians pretending to be Syrians flying them just like in Korea.
The bombers I can understand. The part that worries me is they’re layering Syria with the best anti-air systems they have. These aren’t anti-rocketry systems, they’re designed to bring down state of the art aircraft like those we’d field. ISIS/ISIL/al-Qaida doesn’t have an air force. So either they’re designed to lock us out or to counter Israel. Either way it has nothing to do with ISIL
Whatever they do, we asked for it. Didn’t we know this was going to happen sometime while that man was stinking up the place? I’m only surprised Ivan has waited this long.
They don’t have a lot of these.
Looks like they mean business.
That is a big sucker. Looks like he might be carrying the aircraft version of the ss-n-22 Sunburn.

Not weird at all. Its a political statement that nobody is allowed to bomb Syrian Army positions, the Russian bases, or Assad. This only bothers people who really planned to attack Assad all along.
But in Syrian airspace right now have been USAF, IAF, Turkeys, Jordanians, UAE, French, Syrian, Russian, and maybe more. With 8 or 9 Air Forces there, half with not so hidden agendas to remove Assad, it would seem prudent to protect your own base.
It’s a solid fighter-bomber, but it’s based on the Su-27.
About 70 feet long, 45 feet tip to tip.
It’s Russia’s most competent light bomber, IMHO.
Not altogether happy to have them in the neighborhood, although I suppose Russia is a stabilizing force — for now.
I am most concerned with what happens next.
I’m wondering if ISIS will be holding any large public victory parades NOW...
This is going to be Putin’s advertisement to the Persian Gulf countries to “ditch your alliance with that fop on the other side of the Atlantic and ally with us. We will protect you from Jihadis.” The Persian Gulf is about to become a Russian lake. You can be sure he will make a very thorough job of it.
Sorry, left off part of my post. To put the size into perspective, it’s about 10 feet longer than an F-15.
Who would trust him to be a co-conspirator???
Name him, ping him!
Does ISIS have reliable AAA systems? Besides what we smuggled to them early on?
