YoutTube Video: Donald Trump Endorses Universal Health Care - "The Government's Gonna Pay For It."
On Sunday’s episode of 60 Minutes on CBS, Donald Trump said that “Obamacare is a disaster” and that he plans to repeal it and replace it with a government-funded universal healthcare plan.
During the lengthy interview, CBS correspondent Scott Pelley asked billionaire real estate mogul and 2016 Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump his position on healthcare reform.
“Obamacare’s going to be repealed and replaced. Obamacare is a disaster if you look at what’s going on with premiums where they’re up 40, 50, 55 percent,” replied Trump.
Pelley then pressed him to offer his own specific plan for fixing the U.S. healthcare system.

Trump began explaining, “There’s many different ways, by the way. Everybody’s got to be covered. This is an un-Republican thing for me to say because a lot of times they say, ‘No, no, the lower 25 percent that can’t afford private.’ But…”
Pelley then interrupted, noting that Trump was describing a universal healthcare plan.
Trump continued, “I am going to take care of everybody. I don’t care if it costs me votes or not. Everybody’s going to be taken care of much better than they’re taken care of now.”
The real estate billionaire then explained that he “would make a deal with existing hospitals to take care” of uninsured Americans.
When Pelley asked him to clarify who would pay for the plan, Trump replied, “The government’s gonna pay for it. But we’re going to save so much money on the other side. But for the most it’s going to be a private plan and people are going to be able to go out and negotiate great plans with lots of different competition with lots of competitors with great companies and they can have their doctors, they can have plans, they can have everything.
So much for Trump. He could have been the MAN.He is just another Statist but with the force of personality to very rapidly convert the whole country into Venezuela.
That’s not at all what Trump proposed.
All he said was that he’d have the government continue to pay for healthcare for the poor (Medicaid).
He has previously repeatedly said that he’d repeal Obamacare and have free market solutions, including competition across state lines, for the rest of us.
The outright lies being pushed here are disgusting.
Told ya...
A lot of these things, I don’t think he has thought all the way through. He figures, he’s smart, he’ll figure it out when he gets there. He’ll wing it, he’ll make a deal and it will be fine. Since he’s smarter than anyone else out there, it has to be better than what we’ve got now.
He might be right, but I’m sticking with Cruz.
Trump or Cruz no one else. All others can pound sand.
Still, his reflex is a private system. Everyone will be covered, but a private system.
Me too.
He seeks the nomination for which party? He might team up with Bernie Sanders.
Time for us to finally say good bye.
He’s not promising free health care.
He’d get more votes promising free prescription drugs, too.
And he did say he wants to preserve private health care for those want to pay for it.
Trump: The Leftist that Right-Wingers love to love.
Let him think he is ahead until it is too late for a 3rd party run, then pull the rug out.
It’s just the latest “gotcha” attack.
The usual pack will jump around for 2 days and then breathlessly wonder why they managed to sway no one.
He is just a big gubmint progressive. Democrat leanings oozing out everywhere.
I’ll wait until Trump publishes his official position.
Just like the Democrat Trump is.
Freepers, are you awake YET?
This is how America dies. To the sound of ‘conservative’ applause.
He isn’t our answer folks.
But that's just it - deep down inside, who really wants to pay for health care if there is an option provided for "free"?
That’s for people above the poverty line.
I don’t see where he said we are going to be herded into a national VA-style plan.
If you already know Trump, he has unflattering things to say about VA health care.
I don’t see him advocating Bernie Sanders-style free health care.
Which even the latter’s native Vermont is balking at because of the astronomical costs.
I would be very surprised if Trump wants government health care.
