Yep.. and it’s bad.
Everyone pays the same % or it’s not fair and I don’t give a rats ass about what anyone makes.
If the 1st step of any honest tax reform does not include repealing the 16th amendment then it’s using a teaspoon to fix the incoming tide.
Well then go ask your prefered candidate for their detailed plan so we can see a better one.

Death tax is gone. Closed loop holes etc. This is a great start. Eventually the closure of the IRS is the ultimate goal but this gets the non-conservative people on the band wagon.
Because it is not flat does not make it bad. If all these rates are coming down and it’s simpler and less filled with deductions, it could be good. I am a huge flat tax fan, but I’ll consider other proposals. I haven’t dug into this one to say either way, but lowering corporate and top tax rates down significantly is potentially good with me.
Well, you want to tax the 7 year old’s lemonade stand at the same rate you would a rich person? I think at some low income level it makes no sense to tax a person via income tax. It might make sense from a goods and services tax point of view and exempt certain items, e.g., certain foods, from the goods and services tax to help the poor.
I prefer Cruz, but if Trump wins it, I will be fine with that.
So far I haven’t heard Cruz’s plan, but Trump’s is perfectly fine as a starting point. I’m not expecting anyone to propose abolishing the income tax or a flat tax and seriously mean it as more than red meat for the base. If this is a dis step towards that, then that is fine as long as the movement is towards either of those goals.
Gotta give it to him...he’s finally spelling out his plans. I don’t agree with a progressive tax code, but if it’s anything like Trump spelled out....let’s get it done.
Trump supporters need to get him up to speed on the Supreme Court’s clarification of Congress’s limited power to appropriate taxes. State sovereigny-respecting justices had clarified that Congress is prohibited from appropriating taxes in the name of state power issues, essentially any issue which Congress cannot ustify under its constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers.

Also tell Trump that the reason that probably most federal taxes are uncostitutional is because the corrupt, post 17th Amendment ratification Senate is not doing its job to protect the states as the Foundining States had intended for it to do. The Senate actually hurts the states by helping the corrupt House to pass unconstitutional tax appropriations bills, bills that arguably steal state revenues.
The ill-conceived 17th Amendment needs to disappear, and corrupt senators who pass unconstitutional House appropriations bills along with it.
Also Trump has a new book coming out on October 27th that will go into detail on a number of other things.

Point is, there are probably a hundred tax plans better than what Trump proposed this morning. But what Trump proposed this morning is better than anything we have heard from any other candidate this election cycle.
Who is your candidate of choice and what is their tax plan? Just so we can compare.
