Many within the GOP establishment including Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal and Kentucky Senator Rand Paul are finally waking up to an inconvenient truth. Namely, this election cycle is a season for outsiders. As Donald Trump, Carly Fiorina, and Ben Carson surge in the polls, certain candidates who enjoyed mass quantities of encouragement and support from the Republican old guard are falling by the wayside with increasing speed, like Texas Governor Rick Perry, who many Republicans viewed as a shoo-in for the nomination and who suspended his campaign two weeks ago. Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker, a favorite among social conservatives, followed suit a short time later, calling on his fellow republicans to band together and take frontrunner Donald Trump out of contention for the good of the party.

I thought Pataki was also on his way out!
I hate to see Bobby go. I think he cares.
TOTALLY UNEXPECTED!!! /s
So that frees up, what, 2.5% of the vote for other candidates?
So that frees up, what, 2.5% of the vote for other candidates?
As they exit the presidential race, we haven’t necessarily seen the last of them. I’m thinking that any of them could be on the list for VP running mates.
That should free up about 1.3% in the polls.
Hasta luego
It would make more sense for Jim Gilmore, George Pataki, and Lindsay Graham to exit. I believe they are all currently polling “0%”. The candidates with 1% support look impressive in comparison.
Jindal was going no where but I had him pretty high on my list. 2nd after Walker got out.
Does Paul get his quarter (or half?) million back from the Kentucky Republican Party?
Pauls never actually drop out. They just suspend their active campaigns so morons will continue to waste votes on lost causes.
All these people had to do was speak truth to power on the issues and never back down or apologize, and there wouldn’t be a need for Trump to run.
And then there were 13!
In reality though, there can be 9, since Pataki, Gilmore, Santorum and Graham aren’t going anywhere either.
Then there’s Christie and Kasich. Bringing it down to 7.
Trump, Carson, Cruz, Fiorina, Bush, Rubio, Huckabee are what will be left.
The Establishment will get behind Bush, Rubio and Fiorina at various times as needed, with Huckabee helping out where he can to splinter the conservative/evangelical vote.
And it’s not even October yet!
But Jindal is not a natural born citizen, should not have been allowed to run.
Gilmore and Pataki had no business getting in, Graham either. They have to be mental if they really think they can win.
Linda’s job is to play ‘Anti-Cruz’ in the Senate Kabuki Theater.
That doesn’t require any poll numbers.
Bobby may have a future as a Presidential candidate ... if there is a future, what with Iran’s getting nukes and all.
