Top GOP official seeks McConnell ouster as Senate leader (Villere- Vice Chair RNC)
WashTimes ^ | 9/27/2015 | Ralph Hallow

Posted on 09/27/2015 3:38:46 PM PDT by VinL

“McConnell needs to resign!!” Louisiana GOP Chairman Roger Villere wrote...

Villere isn’t just any Republican. He’s the longest-serving state GOP chairman in the nation...the vice chairman of the RNC... also serves on the RNC’s executive committee...

Aides for McConnell...did not return repeated calls and emails seeking comment. {Priebus} was unavailable Sunday.

{Boehner resigned] and ...an ideological irony there is that his probable replacement, Kevin McCarthy...is closer politically to Mr. Boehner than to the more ideologically passionate members ...

The same may hold true for Mr. McConnell...

Villere said...“Honestly, I haven really thought of a replacement,”

Villere did say what {offends rank and file about McConnell]:

— his failure to challenge executive overreach by President Obama or fight to repeal Obamacare and other unpopular measures.

“Mr. McConnell could have suspended consideration of confirmations for all presidential appointees, except for those who are essential to national security, until the president rescinded his unconstitutional executive action on amnesty.” M

“This would have been a constitutionally appropriate response to the overreach of the executive branch... “It would have transformed the political environment, greatly encouraged Republican donors and grass-roots activists, and positioned us to refuse to confirm replacements for any Supreme Court openings that might occur ”

[ALSO}, “Not trying to repeal Obamacare, not defunding Planned Parenthood, not trying to stop illegal immigration .....“That is what Republicans ran on and once they were elected they did not follow up with their promises.”

Villere... said he was moved to act after reading a story quoting Mr. McConnell as saying he wasn’t going to support a potential government shutdown in order to block federal funding for Planned Parenthood, a private organization that provides abortion services.

“If we lose the battle, we will never win the presidency again in my lifetime,”

It’s finaly dawned on the GOPES. If it were not for both kowtowing to Obama, and the Senate and the House actually doing something Trump would not be where he is at.

Bingo! Unfortunately, the pubs have no brains, no spine and no testicles. Sessions would be a dynamite majority leader.

I personally don’t completely fault the Senate for inability to block Obama, especially since he’s been using Executive orders for much of this, which really require the courts to strike down. . . . . . .

______________________________________________________

I vehemently disagree.

Because the House controls the purse they are by far and away (potentially) the most powerful half of the Legislature. Without money nobody in government can do anything, this president has tried to make a government shutdown hard on little people but it doesn't have to be that way. the House should pass funding bills for parks and other sites and make Obama veto it if that is what he wants to do. It would be really hard on Democrats for a change if Obama did that but I don't think McConnell wants any of that I think something else is going on, I just don't know what it is. If McConnell would simply acknowledge that the Senate would pass small spending bills for individual departments the House would send them over in a matter of hours.

Villere speaks up now?
So where was this Republican “Leader” before?

This is the problem! NONE of these elder statesmen have the balls to speak up BEFORE the *HTF.

If Cruz doesn’t get traction in the POTUS race, take the Senate Majority Leader spot. Now THAT would give the e folks some serious ‘roids.

Trump has brought this on. He’s awakened a Silent Majority who’s been backed into a corner, at every turn....not just by 0blama, but by Pubbie leadership, as well.

Trump has given the majority a voice, like no one else has been able to do.

GOPe is managing by fear, at this point.

We the Base say, enough is enough.

.

Here's the article's "money quote" (below) ... and WHY Senator Jeff Sessions will be the new U.S. Senate Majority Leasder ...

When a GOP-E Executive leader starts 'splainin' what Mitch McConnell SHOULD have done about Obama's Executive Amnesty ...

Mr. McConnell could have suspended consideration of confirmations for all presidential appointees, except for those who are essential to national security, until the president rescinded his unconstitutional executive action on amnesty

you KNOW Mitch is done for.

And precisely "who" do we American Patriot Tea Party members have to thank for all of this ?

"Donald Trump".

Here’s the guy, RNC executive committee, so he’s definitely got some standing, and he is frustrated to say the least.

He’s not my guy, but I think this is part of The Trunp Effect :)

The talking heads on FNC this morning ( Judith miller and cohorts ) were distraught over the bonher ousting . They where dismayed over jindal’s declaration that “ mcconell’s next “ . Then they all rung there hands declaring it was the end of the Republican Party .

Then I switched to football .

Thank you for referencing that article VinL. Please bear in mind that the following critique is directed at the article and not at you.

Given that the country has a lawless president that patriots want to remove from the Oval Office, also activist justices that patriots likewise want to remove from the Supreme Court, the problem with Congress is not necessarily the House leaders imo.

More specifically, regardless that the Founding States gave Congress the constitutional authority to remove bad-apple presidents and justices from office, the problem is that even after three election cycles, enough cycles to replace all members of the Senate, patriot voters who “own” the Senate through the 17th Amendment have failed to elect the 2/3 Senate majority that the Constitution requires for the Senate to remove corrupt, House-impeached government “leaders” from office.

I call this situation 17th Amendment gridlock.

The ill-conceived 17th Amendment needs to disappear, and corrupt senators who protect lawless presidents and activist justices along with it.
