Ben Carson may want to stick to just providing his medical opinions.
The retired neurosurgeon and surging 2016 Republican candidate offered another controversial stance about Islam in America on Sunday, saying that he's open to considering religion as probably cause for searches.
When asked on ABC's "This Week" if he would listen to arguments from people advocating that one's religion could provide probable cause to search the emails and calls of Syrian refugees being let into the U.S., Carson answered in the affirmative.
"I personally don't feel that way, but I would certainly be willing to listen to somebody who had evidence to the contrary," Carson said. "I think that's one of the problems, we get to our little corners, and we don't want to listen to anybody."
"What we should be talking about is Islam and the tenets of Islam and where do they come from? They come from sharia. They come the Koran," he added, diving back into his anti-Muslim comments from last week. "They come from, you know, the life works and examples of Mohammed. They come from the fatwas, which is the writings of scholars. You know, and if you go back and you look at - what I would like for somebody to show me is an improved Islamic text that opposes sharia."

This is not a police state.
It is not a smart state either.
FR is going nutty.
Just the Libertarian wing though. :)
We search based on the threat of terrorism and not based on religion.
If Islam was just a religion then you might be right but they are not and to think otherwise is foolish.

If my source is correct, then he still doesn't get it. If the source is false, then I need to do more research on Trump's stance toward Islam.
Until our government comes to the place where it understands that Islam is the enemy, we will continue being played and ultimately overcome by the satanic religion/government called Islam. History is a wonderful teacher. What is it about Islam that we don't already know?
This man is charming but dangerous in his absolute ignorance.
Yes. All those silly little factions focus so deeply on themselves and their petty manufactured grievances that they miss the big picture entirely. Kinda like reaching down to pick up a shiny new iphone in the middle of the road and being run over by a semi.
Great analogy. They dont realize they are about to lose everything.
