Donald Trump goes off on 'dishonest' reporters who say he's slipping
Business Insider ^ | Sept 25, 2015 | Hunter Walker

Donald Trump has two words to describe a recent spate of articles that suggested he may be losing steam in the Republican presidential primary: "dishonest reporting."

"Very dishonest and the people understand that," Trump said in a conversation with Business Insider

...by CNN, Politico, and The Washington Post used recent polls from Quinnipiac and CNN/ORC to argue that the surge that propelled Trump to the head of the GOP pack may be ending....

CNN's Eric Bradner came in with a story of his own a few hours later. Bradner said the Quinnipiac poll "reinforce[d] a recent CNN/ORC poll that showed an ascendant Fiorina..."

That story was headlined, in part, "Donald Trump lead shrinks."

The Washington Post's Philip Bump was up next...the claim that "Donald Trump's slide in the polls is beginning to look real."

Business Insider reached out... Trump's campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, said the media is motivated to diminish Trump's standing.

"Look, I think the media in general wants to have a narrative that this race is either tighter than it really is," Lewandowski said. "Or they want to propel other candidates into the forefront because they know that Mr...

"If you were any other candidate in this race, you would welcome the opportunity to have Mr. Trump's poll numbers," he said.

Trump and his team pointed to a slew of polls to dispute the notion that he's losing steam...

"It's dishonest reporting and — let me change it — it's knowingly dishonest," Trump said. "Because the polls speak for themselves. I'm up. Check out Zogby. Check out Reuters — the Reuters — what do they call that? The Reuters average..."

All of the polls show Trump well ahead...

In addition to these national numbers, ... Specifically, they identified an Iowa poll by PPP and a Sunshine State poll...

Odd. Note ALL turned down simultaneously, especially those at the top. Only Fiorina shot up briefly.

As Fiorina fades, Trump and Carson will very likely move up a bit. Cruz and Rubio as well.

The fifth-column media betray and lie with every stolen breath these vermin exhale (yeah, that includes David, Lester, Scott, and Gwen).

Yes, I watched it. Trump was much better when he got on the issues and away from the attacks. Common Core is the way to go after a lot of the others; it seemed to be what turned the crowd around.

Yeah, lol, they have to. Those voters have to go somewhere. I’m a little surprised that Walker’s supporters (both of ‘em) didn’t go to Rubio or Bush.

Next they will say he’s walking around with three ball bearings in his hand while rambling about strawberries.

Well if Trump does not confront this stuff they will kill him with a thousand cuts. His only game is attack, attack , attack.

If you look at RCP averages, it's clear Trump is off his highs of 6 weeks ago by anywhere from 4-6 points. At the same time, his state polling is still pretty close to where it always was, in NH and IA for example.

Whether that's the result of the debate itself, or of some "squishy" supporters jumping to Fiorina, hard to say. The lead is still pretty solid, and almost always over Carson. Fiorina and Rubio back by 13-14.

Yes and no. Yes they poll everyday but they don’t publish the results until a few weeks later in bunches like it shows in the graph.

Someone on Twitter claims to have brought the data up to date and Bush is #2??? Don’t think so.

A lot of polls you hear about are garbage.

Real Clear Politics shifts through all the polls, weeds out the garbage ones and only uses real scientifically based polls in it’s averages. But even then, outliers can happen.

Pollsters have biases and the guys who work for the big media are suspect of shaving points.

Only a few months away about who is right or who is wrong, and I would not bet any good sum of money against Trump.

You have that right about people showing up and pulling levers... in South Carolina, GOPe will be getting democrats to pull levers for Jeb so Trump needs to really focus on getting 4x the regular primary voter turn out to show up if he wants a chance...

Trump is almost exactly where Obama was at this time in 2007.

Faux news tried SO hard to push the narrative that Trumps numbers were plummeting and Fiorina was the new front runner after destroying Trump at the debate.

lol

10 years ago, it might have worked.
