Fox’s Roger Ailes to Sit Down with Donald Trump to Discuss Coverage
Mediaite ^ | September 24th, 2015 | Alex Griswold

Posted on 09/24/2015 11:03:59 AM PDT by monkapotamus

Only a day after Donald Trump announced that he was boycotting Fox News— and after Fox News announced they had cancelled him first– the network has announced that they will enter talks with Trump to discuss his concerns.

Below is the full statement, provided to Mediaite by a Fox News spokesperson:

Fox News Chairman & CEO Roger Ailes and Donald Trump spoke this morning and plan to have a meeting next week to discuss their differences of opinion regarding Fox’s coverage of Mr. Trump’s presidential campaign. Ailes will be joined by senior Fox editorial executives. Mr. Trump believes he has been treated unfairly in certain instances. FOX News has held every candidate in this race to the highest journalistic standards throughout our coverage. We believe a candid meeting about our differences is required and that any misunderstandings can be handled without compromising those standards.

What standards? LOL

FoxNews, you got called on what you’ve been up to.

Eat humble pie. It tastes good when it’s in season.

By virtue of his numbers, Trump holds a position of strength. He is using that strength to is advantage. People on this site in denial of that are going to get it wrong every time.

They are supposed to be hosting another debate aren’t they? Same 3 creatures are to moderate. FOX better get this fixed, as I could see him refusing to do that debate.

Trump should give the children a month or so to see and experience a revenue drop. Then schedule an on air interview.

Then cancel it.

I’ll bet Greta and O’reilly and Hannity all requested this. Without Trump their ratings drop could cost the network millions.

“Okay, where are the pinheads who were here yesterday saying Trump was acting like a child?”

They’ve been on many other threads today, saying he’s been whining and has no balls.

Fox needs to ask this guy about "journalistic standards". I suspect Trump will have a few words to say about him at the meeting.

What more can they do to throw the race to Trump? Fox News is a sham.

Who writes this crap?

Maybe if FNC held its "journalists" to journalistic standards, this problem wouldn't keep recurring.

I’m blown away by everyone who continues to defend the thin skinned Trump. If someone calls him a name or says something derogatory about him, he goes on a rant. Trump is ruining his chances with his constant whining and insults.

He’d do himself a favor by ignoring critics and giving us more detailed plans for making our country great again. Stop with the childish behavior! If he becomes POTUS, he’ll get LOTS of criticism and so far he’s demonstrating he can’t handle any.

Fox needs to set some "standards" for themselves.

I agree.

Some folks are going to look at this and think this is just Trump throwing his weight around for his own gain.

Is that true?

The truth is that if successful, this is going to cause every network to consider how they present their views on candidates.

This should elevate the game across the networks.

The guy is doing things we have only dreamed of for decades.

For his efforts, he gets roasted here far in excess of what he deserves.

I am so thankful for the dynamic he has brought to this election cycle.
