Pope Francis delivered a stinging blow to nativist conservatives bent on keeping illegal immigrants and Middle Eastern refugees out of the United States, saying Thursday in a landmark address to Congress that Americans should show compassion to immigrants of all stripes.

I listen to God and live by His Holy Word, not the pope especially when he is too liberal to say that abortion and homosexuality is SIN in the Eyes of god. No thanks.

Argentina is the poster boy for socialism. In 1900, it was one of the 10 richest nations on earth. A century later, it wasn't even in the top 100.
You can look it up.

Exactly, you can be good neighbors, as long as each lives in their own house. Force the neighbors to move into your house, and there are going to be problems.

Well, then, he missed an opportunity.
islam is the problem. It teaches violence as strategy for global domination. Pope-dude should call it out by name as a totalitarian death cult and reject it in favor of the G-d and soul-centric religion of your choosing.

“He did touch upon the issue of the dangers of religious fanacism without saying the name Islam.”
That’s because he considers bible believing Christians to be the fanatics

We Americans
do show compassion. Encouraging our neighbors to use the proper legal channels to enter America, just as our forbearers did with pride and honor, teaches them one of the most important lessons about becoming an American. First, we play by the rules and obey the Law.
Were we not to discourage illegal entry and occupation, we would be condoning, and aiding and abbetting by willful comission, the turning of these otherwise good people into criminals as their first act on American soil.
That would be the least compassionate thing we could do.

Not really, it was in regards to Islam, without mentioning the word Islam.

“that have been that way since the 7th century and before.”
So in other words they like it that way. Which is why they bring it to anyplace they go.

US Conference of Catholic Bishops gets a LOT of money from the government to help resettle refugees . It should NOT be a surprise that he wants masses of refugees to come into this country .
Wake up America it is YOU who are going to pay for this stupidity and the monetary cost is the least of it .

I am pretty sure the Pope didn't use the word abortion but he did talk about protecting the life of humans at all stages of development. The phrase “protecting life from conception until natural death”, is a pro-life euphemistic argument against abortion and euthanasia.
By the way I am going to read the text of the Pope's speech. It was difficult to understand him with his heavy accent.

Followed closely by the Orthodox Church.
