This one too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1iuj7VMB48o
I presume you did. I did, but only intellectually, it hadn't permeated me at that point, meaning that he could ACTUALLY be as bad as my fears.
I deep down didn't want to believe the truth I knew in my head.
A sad admission, particularly considering what happened. I didn't want to believe he was the face of evil in our time. I just wasn't ready for it.
This is satire, right? No, tragically, I know it isn't.
Entropy, where were you in 2008? Did you miss the outrage from the left when Rush Limbaugh stated that he hoped Obama wouldn't succeed?
Do you think he was wrong to say that? Unpatriotic?
If you do, HOW could you think that? We knew Obama was the most far left freak to ever hit the Oval Office. We knew he was a socialist redistributor who wanted to remake the country to fit his leftwing fantasies.
In view of that knowledge, why would you have wished for his success in doing so!?
That reminds me of Hillary's .... I am sick and tired ....
This is not logic. This is stupid. Barack 0bama was the most liberal Senator ever. BH0 was anti-American. BH0 was caught in multiple lies. BH0 hid his entire background from the public, including his birth certificate. He was very clear on his plan to fundamentally change America.
Rush had it right from day 1 ... I Hope Obama Fails
This is no way to excuse Trump's '09 statements on 0bama on a conservative forum.
No, I meant 2002, when he ran against Alan Keyes for Senate. Or was it 04. Whenever that race was. And then of course the convention speech 2004.
No, by 08 I was way past needing to understand Obama. Then again, by 1992 I was onto John Mccain. I’m early to almost all these parties.
No, I was not late...I was early. Lotta folks listened. It might have escaped you, but Obama did not get 100% of the vote. A lot of us, not you and Trump apparently, were onto him way before. So yeah, American voters are almost always ill informed. I'm surprised you hadn't gleaned that til now.
PING: He's digging himself DEEPER and DEEPER PING!!!
No, by my logic, which IS logic, Fiorina should be treated just like Trump should be treated - which is to appreciate what they're bringing to the conversation that is good (which is a lot from both) and to not trust their conservative instincts due to their poor judgments in the past and liberal reflexes.
The "he thought he had me, but he was wrong" PING!!!!
I am from Chicago, and I knew Obama better than most on FR. I was 100% against Obama, personally. But the point we are debating in a civil manner is not whether Obama was conservative, liberal or socialist or communist.
The point of debate is....should Americans unite behind a newly elected president, or begin the divide immediately. Even a socialist community organizer deserves benefit of doubt that he will evolve and do what would be best for all Americans.
For example if Ted Cruz gets elected president in 2016, would Hillary be wise to wish him success on the first day in office or immediately start calling him a right wing extremist?
If Trump had continued to praise Obama after first term, then Trump should be disparaged, justifiably. But to regurgitate a statement made by Trump 8 years ago, on first day of office of the newly elected president, and disparage Trump for it is unpatriotic, unfair and smacks of desperation by supporters of some other candidate who is failing to resonate with voters.
I’ll stand with Rush - which is where I was instinctively at the time. You can stand with Morning Joe. Or Michael Smerconish. Or Michael Medved. Or John Boehner. Or Mitch McConnell. You know, all the “conservatives” who were groveling at the obama feet. Along with Trump.
All this for a damn flag?!
I didn't know about his record and history until the year he won the nomination.
Like I said, early on I didn't want to believe the face of evil in our time was really the US president.
Yet.
Didn't take long after to have my hopes of a Clintonian moderation dashed.
"It is ridiculous that you focus on something said six years ago, with reference to a foreign policy initiative, without pointing out that Trump clearly woke up about Obama, long before he entered the present Presidential race. Have you forgotten his effort to expose Obama's credentials during the intervening years?
"If we cannot work with people who once were wrong, we cannot simply put together the numbers to ever win.
"Wake up. We are in a desperate fight to save the American heritage. Trump recognized that Bush had damaged it, by a bull in a china-closet foreign policy. A great many of us share Trump's attitude on that.
"No, we recognized long before his election that Obama was an enemy to our heritage. Trump did not wake up as early on that. You need to wake up, now, to the fact that his attack on being "politically correct," has immensely helped the ongoing cause of trying to retain an American future."
Sorry for a typo. The quoted comment from yesterday was #168, not #158.
Second reason being Obama's Muslim background. His father was a devout Muslim, and also his step-father in Indonesia. I know exactly how that would influence a child in his formative years. Because I grew up in a predominantly Muslim area of India, and my childhood pals were Muslim kids. I have seen first hand how Muslims think.
However, I was willing to give the newly elected president on inauguration day, a fair shot at looking after interest of ALL Americans, and not just those who voted for him. I will not disparage anyone who did the same, including Donald Trump.
However if Trump had continued to sing Obama's praises after finishing first term, I would have no use for Trump. But to his credit, Trump in his book published in 2011, "Time to get Tough" says the following:
"Obamacare is a 2733 page monstrosity which is killing jobs, destroying healthcare system, with skyrocketing premiums, destroying patient choice, and exploding spending."
"Obama has admitted that Cap and Tax would drive energy prices sky high"
"Obama has blown trillions of our tax dollars on his 'stimulus' schemes while he wants to cut $400 Billion from defense budget"
"The greatest outrage is Obama's unwillingness to stand strong in face of Iran's nuclear ambitions"
Very good post.
There is no debate. If the president is a destructive leftwinger, as we knew was the case with Obama, the divide is there from the beginning; no need to "begin" it. We have nothing in common with the left. There's no point in playing nice, and in fact, it's a dangerous weakness.
Your socialist community organizer made his true nature known early on, so tell me why you think he deserved the benefit of the doubt that he would "evolve."
If you're that naive, you shouldn't be voting.
But that isn't precisely the case here. Your gymnastics are based not on naivete, but on your need to try and find a way to excuse liberal Donald Trump. AGAIN.
"For example if Ted Cruz gets elected president in 2016, would Hillary be wise to wish him success on the first day in office or immediately start calling him a right wing extremist?"
You surely don't think Clinton would wish Cruz well, and you must, by now, understand the blackly evil nature of the left.
You're just struggling to create some justification for Trump.
"If Trump had continued to praise Obama after first term, then Trump should be disparaged, justifiably. But to regurgitate a statement made by Trump 8 years ago, on first day of office of the newly elected president, and disparage Trump for it is unpatriotic, unfair and smacks of desperation by supporters of some other candidate who is failing to resonate with voters."
Trump can be justifiably disparaged for a lot of things, considering his history of liberalism...and the liberalism that he frequently reveals even now.
Sorry, entropy, but I'm not buying the excuses. This is all part of vetting a candidate, no matter how much you dislike it.

Every word 100% correct, and I too don't buy entropy is that naive and foolish, nor do I even buy he thinks a man that naive and foolish just 5 years ago should be President. But the mental gymnastics are part of the cult adherence.
In your dreams.
My prayers too, but since God’s design is probably to destroy America for wanton sin, Trump will probably be the nominee.
you clearly have lower standards than I do....
Best luck to whichever candidate you are supporting, so long it is not a democrat.
I am thoroughly enjoying this primary campaign, knowing the candidate I am supporting has topped EVERY poll since he declared. I am sure you would also be having as much fun as I am having if your candidate topped all the polls. Do you agree?
