The super PAC supporting neurosurgeon Ben Carson for GOP president has seen a surge of donations since his appearance Sunday on NBCs Meet the Press, where Mr. Carson said he wouldnt advocate for a Muslim to be president of the United States.
We sent out an email to Carson supporters, and weve never had an email raise so much money so quickly its unbelievable, said John Philip Sousa IV, who chairs the 2016 Committee super PAC. My phone has exploded over the last 48 hours of people wanting me to pass on to Dr. Carson how much they respect his truthfulness and believe in the American system, and how absolutely not should anyone who believes in Sharia law come close to the White House. The people are on Dr. Carsons side on this one sorry NBC you lose......................."

I agree with that— Carson is not presidential.
It fits.
The outrage is from the liberal media not normal people.
Nice graphic.
You’re right about that one. Conspiracists tend to struggle day to day.
If I didnt know better, Id suspect that The Establishment is putting him up to this, so as to take a piece of meat off of Trump.
But then what do I know?
I am so glad you said that. I have been thinking along those lines, but didn't even want to say it out loud. But I can't put the scenario together or connect the dots. I have tried to research why carson decided to run, but have found nothing. It seems so strange for such a novice, who, in his own words, is humble, would presume he was ready for the presidency. I don't think the whole story is known of Dr. Ben Carson. The only thing that would make sense to me is that he heard from the Lord in a very specific way - or some very important earthbound people. Time will tell. what are your thoughts?
Got to give it to him...people seem to have forgotten Dr. Carson’s weak response on Afghanistan.
“If I didnt know better, Id suspect that The Establishment is putting him up to this, so as to take a piece of meat off of Trump.
But then what do I know?”
A lot. I don’t think the GOPe put him up to it. I think Dr. Carson, being a very smart man, came up with this issue all on his own. He knew he was going down in the polls, and that Carly’s star was rising; in some polls she moved into 2nd place after Trump, and Gentle Ben sunk down into 3rd place. He was undoubtedly afraid his fundraising would drop also.
So, how to get back into the spotlight? He took a page out of Donald Trump’s playbook, and said something outrageous enough to draw the attention back to himself in the MSM, get the Dem socialists all bent out of shape, change the subject of his drop in the polls to something else, and made sure that what he said would appeal to his base, in particular the religious part of the base.
Kudo’s to the Doctor; it worked like a charm. He’ll go back up in the polls, he is getting lots of new money injected into his campaign fund, and Carly’s 15 minutes of fame in 2nd place will rapidly come to an end. Mission accomplished.
Trump will still beat the pants off of both of them, Ben and Carly. And all of the rest of the Pub candidates as well.
Carson’s campaign has experienced a nice bump after those comments. I don’t think this will change the previous direction of his influence as a candidate. I think after a few more days the downward trend will continue where it was briefly interrupted. It’s hard to believe this man used to have serious anger issues. He always seems to be in a Zen state of mind, at least in public.
Maybe everything’s not a vast GOPe conspiracy to destroy Trump.
Maybe Trump is capable of doing that himself, eh? Same as with any other candidate.
Maybe the Republican field has several good and decent people, each with varying strengths and weaknesses.
Great graphic dittoes!
“Time will tell. what are your thoughts?”...
Trump opened the door denying “politically correct” statements, Carson saw his opportunity and jumped on it.
While Carson seems to be a humble, likeable person, someone you might befriend, he is NOT that someone who has the boldness to look an enemy in the eye and tell him to drop his weapon or die, Trump has such strength. In today’s troubled world, thanks to odumbo, should push come to shove, I’d bet on Trump over Carson, we need such a leader.
“I am so glad you said that. I have been thinking along those lines, but didn’t even want to say it out loud.
Thanks people. A couple more comments in this area. First, if you watch the clip, you’ll see that Carson was not even asked whether a Muslim should be president - he offered it up and without having to even think about it. That often happens when you’re not sure the interview is going to get to your point, but you feel a need to bring it up anyway. And second, given his profession, I suspect he’s worked with more Muslims in positions of responsibility than possibly any other candidate, and I suspect (only suspect) to a person that none of those Muslims waste their time on Jihad or try to go around killing patients. Instead, I suspect that they are either top-notch professionals making a living saving lives, or at least competent in their profession. If you compare that to a governor, or a Senator that has access to classified information - and they see what terrorist cells are capable of - those people may tend to opinions about Islam and Sharia more in line with what Carson is saying.
Again, Carson seems totally out of character on this.
“Maybe everythings not a vast GOPe conspiracy to destroy Trump.”
Might you have an example of a GOPe person that has actually DEFENDED Trump’s right to be a Republican candidate - rather than tried to destroy him? I certainly can’t name one.
“Something” has changed. Chuck Todd lays a typical left wing trap for Ben Carson, Carson walks away from it a stronger candidate. We have seen this over and over with Trump...and it keeps happening. Todd looks rediculous, M Kelly looks rediculous, George Will...even Krauthammer. Our political world and how we perceive it is shifting, not a little, but sugnificantly. What is the “something?”
Thank you for that image, saved...
Wow, your graphic was profound.
I agree.
With the end results I do agree, but I’m not sure Carson calculated that much.
He may have. I’m just not convinced of it.
He got a hundred from me for calling a spade a spade.
