MADISON, Wis. (AP) Warning the GOP's presidential race has become too nasty, Scott Walker suspended his 2016 campaign on Monday and called on some of his Republican rivals to do the same, citing an urgent need to "clear the field" to help defeat GOP front-runner Donald Trump.
"Today, I believe that I am being called to lead by helping to clear the field in this race so that a positive conservative message can rise to the top of the field. With that in mind, I will suspend my campaign immediately," Walker said in a Madison press conference.

I’m shocked he included them....Beck has been going off the rails crazy talk about Trump.
You wake up and while you’re at it - get a good ear cleaning. He never said he wanted single payer - he said he wants to replace it with portability - meaning people can buy their healthcare across state lines which make the rates more competitive. I get so sick of people who don’t do their homework spewing lies.
.
>> “He never said he wanted single payer” <<
.
Oh yes he did! He said that he wanted something like Canada and Scotland have. That is total single payer. Single payer is portable by default BTW.
You are spewing your ignorance or stubbornness, not sure which.
“I am informed that the Republican Primary is not the election that decides the election for President. I could be confused.”
And yet you had said:
“Someone is clearing the Republican field of anyone who has a chance of beating Hillary.
Which could only mean that said “field clearing” could only occur during the Republican PRIMARY. So, yes, you ARE confused.
Your ignorance is showing - he said many years ago but also said it wouldn’t work in this day and age. That was back in the 90s. So, now who’s ignorance is showing? He isn’t for single payer today - but thought many years ago it might work. I used to think that many years ago too - but have seen the light. SO has Donald.
Then please stop repeating the same question. Trump does not initiate unprovoked attacks. But when attacked, he responds with brutal effectiveness. So to repeat my answer, if you do not want Trump to attack you, do not attack him FIRST.
Walker's eyes were blinking in code, "The Establishment got me. They're
making me say this. Help!"— Mickey Kaus (@kausmickey) September 22, 2015
editor-surveyor and others have nothing to attack Trump on his current positions, so they dig up very old and out of context stuff. Give editor-surveyor a break. This is the best he can do. He is not a bad conservative, just frustrated that his candidate can not overtake trump.
Hahaha ...the old Morse code!
It is an attack merely to acknowledge what your candidate has himself said in favor single-payer, taxing the rich, etc?
Remember during the 0blamaCare *passing* nightmare, how we all yelled out about wanting insurance to be sold across state lines? That THAT would fix our biggest problems in the insurance industry??
And, now we have Trump saying he’ll do just that. Yet, you have some folks here so against him they can’t even see this is what conservatives have been begging for, for years.
You know who else doesn’t want 0CommieCare to end, or insurance to be sold across state lines? Insurance companies.
I had the TV on mute, I look at it and Carly is singing on “Fallon”. Another bit of weirdness for the day.
The consensus seems to be, if anyone says anything against Trump then he’s allowed to lie or personally attack them because they were “asking for it”. Trump is to be cheered for “fighting back” even with lies (on Walker’s record) or lowbrow personal attacks with zero relevance to the issues (McCain’s war record).
Anyone that fights back against him however is being “petty” or “classless” and is a “loser” and establishment tool.
So basically the only proper thing to do is drop out, endorse him, and beg for a cabinet spot. Or at least stand there and let him punch you in the stomach, occasionally thanking him for it and asking for another one. even with lies (on Walker
Trump supporters seem to have taken a page out of the playbook of Darin LaHood supporters (Darin LaHood is "anti-establishment" because he says so. Merely disagreeing with Ray LaHood's treasonous pro-Obama record is "petty" and "beyond the pale" to "attack the candidate's own father") and the proper thing for any good conservative to do is to shut up and blindly coronate Darin in the GOP primary because he wants the job.
Ah, you again. If Trump wants the use them, they way they use us, I got no problem with that!
Why spend your own money when your enemies are happy to spend theirs for you?
I’ve read Sun Zsu, I imagine Donald has too.
As I said on another thread: go back to TPTB and tell them, we’re not playing by their rules any more!
We’re done! We’ve been lied to, manipulated, taken advantage of - for far too long.
ENOUGH!
You could replace RNC with MSM.
Those are 10+ years old statements. Ridiculously childish to base attacks on such old and out of context statements.
Jeb acts like he’s five years old.
