MADISON, Wis. (AP) Warning the GOP's presidential race has become too nasty, Scott Walker suspended his 2016 campaign on Monday and called on some of his Republican rivals to do the same, citing an urgent need to "clear the field" to help defeat GOP front-runner Donald Trump.
"Today, I believe that I am being called to lead by helping to clear the field in this race so that a positive conservative message can rise to the top of the field. With that in mind, I will suspend my campaign immediately," Walker said in a Madison press conference.

If that's true, then so has Trump. Or he will be soon.
My opinion is the establishment scripted the Walker parting shot to “steer” dissillusioned Walker supporters to other establishment losers.
Walker did what he was told, which is all you need to know about Scott Walker. He is a Loser.
Well, some folks are bad losers.
Trump is not a conservative
maybe not, but he is putting out very conservative position papers. He may not follow up on any f them but he is putting out, so far, very conservative policy papers.
Yes I agree and now tonight all the little GOPe pundits are playing their parts ginning up the CNN poll like Trump is fading. Its really pathetic. They are all just desparate to kill Trump. Its just unreal.
rump overall is a middle-of-the-road populist - but he has obviously picked some issues that resonate with Republicans.
did you see his 2nd amendment paper? that’s a wow.
Thanks. Great post.
Oh well.
Sad to see Walker lower himself like this.
Go Trump :)

what? I hope Trump tears up that “pledge” on nationl TV if this is true!
Thomas Sowell had it right that he was one of two candidates with a record of accomplishment in the executive branch. Rubio next to go?
Trump is resonating with much more than republicans. My own relatives who have been lifelong democrats and were all set to vote for Hillary are switching to Trump! The issue which won them over? Illegals!!!!
Exactly, unlike Reagan in 1976, most of these guys have given little thought to the broader issues. There is no excuse for not having a position on immigration, illegal immigration, chain migration and anchor babies.
There may be a dark horse after all. Loved the book by the way.
AMEN. Thank you
haha. I saw that too— CNN trying to point out all the groups that are abandoning him since the debate, completely ignoring the other major polls that show he has gained since the debate.
They decided to back others. He knew the game was up.
Cruz is a class act, coming and going:
