Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) is calling on Republicans to repudiate Ben Carson's remarks that Muslims are not fit to be president.
I call on every Republican to denounce Ben Carsons disgusting remarks, Reid tweeted on Monday. That shameful intolerance and bigotry should have no place here.
Kareem Khan sacrificed everything for his country, he added, tweeting a picture of a grave bearing that name. Shame on Carson for denigrating him and all Muslim Americans.
Reids Twitter photo shows a memorial for Kareem Rashad Sultan Khan, an Army corporal who lived from Feb. 12, 1987 to Aug. 6, 2007.
The memorial notes that Khan received both the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Earlier Monday on the Senate floor, Reid criticized the Republican Party's attitude toward Muslims.
Sadly, though, Dr. Carsons remarks are just another example of a Republican candidates refusing to speak for three million Muslim Americans, he said.
If these Republican candidates are incapable of going to bat for Americas Muslim community then they shouldnt running for president of the United States, he continued.
Republicans should open their eyes and take note of the contributions of our nations Muslim community, the Nevada lawmaker added. Until they do that, none of them will be worthy of leading this nation.
Carson sparked controversy on Sunday by declaring that Muslims should not be president.
I would not advocate that put a Muslim in charge of this nation, the retired neurosurgeon said on NBCs Meet the Press. I absolutely would not agree with that.
He doubled down on those views in an exclusive interview with The Hill later that evening.
I do not believe Sharia is consistent with the Constitution of this country, Carson said, citing certain interpretations of Islamic law.
Muslims feel that their religion is very much a part of your public life and what you do as a public official, and thats inconsistent with our principles and our Constitution, the former doctor added.
Carsons comments brought bipartisan backlash on Monday, including from many in his own party. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) said there was no religious test for public office in the Constitution.
And the White House also slammed the remarks, with press secretary Josh Earnest calling Carsons comments entirely inconsistent with the Constitution and freedom of religion.
Carson presently ranks second out of 16 candidates for next years GOP presidential nomination across multiple national polls.
He commands 18.8 percent voter support, according to the latest RealClearPolitics average of polls .
Kind of rubs his Mormon beliefs towards irritability, Joseph Smith, like Mohamma loved many wives, little girls, and wrote books that were inspired and DARED anyone to contradict that he was not the prophet.
But it’s A OK for Joe Biden to say that Republicans will put black people in chains I don’t remember him ever being forced to say he’s sorry
How about if I just denounce Harry? Will that do?
FUHR!
go home Reid...your brain got fried when your brother beat the crap out of you...
resign now...not in another year...go now...
Harry Reid can shove it up his filthy, smelly ass.
Carson is RIGHT ON! Go jump in the lake Reid, you pathetic creep.
Sure, as soon as Reid calls on democrats to renounce Obama for “US not cured of racism, its a part of our DNA” and a whole bunch more.
He is without a doubt an enthusiastic islamophile. Some people would argue about his “faith”, but you can’t argue his sympathies.
As an Italian American, I’m very disappointed at the flimsy workover they gave him. There’s guys out here that could have done it much better. :)
Not that I’m condoning it.
I'm still scratching my head, LOL.

Yeah, it takes some thinking.
Basically it comes down to the liberal moral basis,
in rejecting a divine source in favor of a human source,
is nothing but an opinion, no “better” than anyone else’s opinion.
The Christian worldview, on the other hand, is based on a verifiably divine source.
BUMP
We need to chip in for more exercise equipment for dirty.
Though I doubt if most ditzy libs are capable of interpreting much beyond Dick and Jane.

Reid wins an all expense paid one-way ticket to Syria.
So disturbing to see all these racist white liberal racists attacking the first viable black Republican candidate just because of his race, those racists!
Funny pic...BTW...looks like a mobster.
WAIT!!
He IS a mobster!!
Hey Harry, what about your entire disgusting career of making outrageous, disgusting remarks? You’re like a kettle factory calling a little teapot black.
Reid needs to go a 2nd Round with his exercise machine
