The fallacy that President Obama is a Muslim has tripped up many a politician, said NPRs Jessica Taylor hopefully on Friday, and on Thursday night, GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump was its latest victim.
Trumps presumed faux pas was his failure to correct a questioner who asserted that Barack Obama was a Muslim. Taylors real error as a reporter, like that of all her mainstream colleagues, was to dismiss the questioners assertion as a fallacy without providing any evidence to the contrary.
Strange but true, reporters pride themselves on knowing nothing about Obamas roots. Last month, for instance, Catherine Thompson of the popular progressive blog, Talking Points Memo, interviewed me about an article I had written on the subject of Republican presidential eligibility.
Weary of her obvious condescension, I asked her where Obama spent the first year of his life. Indonesia? she answered. No, I said, Seattle. I asked her to survey her colleagues on the same question. Not surprisingly, this was the one exchange she edited out of the interview.
Obamas word, whether on his birth or his faith, is good enough for the center-left media. Although they have chosen to know as little as possible about Obamas Muslim legacy, the legacy is real. Barry was a Muslim, his third grade teacher told the Los Angeles Times in 2007, and he did, in fact, register in school in Indonesia as one.
In his 1995 memoir, Dreams from My Father, Obama gratuitously used the Arabic Andalusia when referring to Spain. In September 2008, in a conversation with George Stephanopoulos set up to quell such rumors, Obama slipped up and referred to my Muslim faith before Stephanopoulos quickly intervened to correct him.

Anyone remember when StepOnallofus had to correct him, You mean your CHRISTIAN faith?.
Problem is that 0s statement doesnt make sense unless he HAD MEANT TO SAY Muslim.
I am thankful that my opponent John McLame has not made an issue of my CHRISTIAN faith. WTF?
Its not like he was an such an outspoken bible-thumper that it could have been used against him.
However if the word Muslim is used, it makes perfect sense that he would have given McLame a hat tip for not making an issue of it....
At this point, what does it matter?

(some key excerpts)
JOSE DIAZ-BALART, TELEMUNDO NETWORK: "Liberation theology in Nicaragua in the mid-1980's was a pro-Sandinista, pro-Marxist, anti-U.S., anti-Catholic Church movement. That's it. No ifs, ands, or buts. His church apparently supported, in the mid-'80s in Nicaragua, groups that supported the Sandinista dictatorships and that were opposed to the Contras whose reason for being was calling for elections. That's all I know. I was there.
I saw the churches in Nicaragua that he spoke of, and the churches were churches that talked about the need for violent revolution and I remember clearly one of the major churches in Managua where the Jesus Christ on the altar was not Jesus Christ, he was a Sandinista soldier, and the priests talked about the corruption of the West, talked about the need for revolution everywhere, and talked about 'the evil empire' which was the United States of America."
REV. BOB SCHENCK, NATIONAL CLERGY COUNCIL: "it's based in Marxism. At the core of his [Wright's] theology is really an anti-Christian understanding of God, and as part of a long history of individuals who actually advocate using violence in overthrowing those they perceive to be oppressing them, even acts of murder have been defended by followers of liberation theology. That's very, very dangerous."
SCHENCK: "I was actually the only person escorted to Dr. Wright. He asked to see me, and I simply welcomed him to Washington, and then I said Dr. Wright, I want to bring you a warning: your embrace of Marxist liberation theology. It is contrary to the Gospel, and you need, sir, to abandon it. And at that he dropped the handshake and made it clear that he was not in the mood to dialogue on that point."

Exactly! Why are they asking Presidential candidates about someone else’s religion?
Just go ask the POS WTF he is!
PS. Whatever he says will be a lie anyway.
GG:
Do you believe in sin?
OBAMA:
Yes.
GG:
What is sin?
OBAMA:
Being out of alignment with my values.
In other words, no, he does not believe in sin. Because if you think something is a sin you simply change your values and poof...no more sin! Sin, ultimately, is transgression of God's law.
Of course!
It's not the man would ever lie - sq/
It seems to me that in this regard as to his faith the Great Pretender in the Oval Office is true to what he always does: he holds out that he is both when in reality his only god is himself. From the reports this is what the pastor Wright ("G--D---) America") observed and was able to convince the Great Pretender that he could be both. He certainly does everything he can to enable the development of a worldwide caliphate through the use of taqqiyeh, a doctrine he is clearly at home with.
Yes, 0’s answers wouldn’t be truly informative at all.
But Christians know, and Muslims know, what 0’s loyalties and preferences are.
Non-Christians and non-Muslims have no way of truly knowing.
Yes and its not too common for a Christian to demand all crosses be removed or covered up before they give a speech at a location.
I'm gonna go with or what.
Is a Obama a muslin, a Christian or what?
Is Obama a Heterosexual, a homosexual or what?
Is Obama a socialist, a communist, a islamist or what?
Does Obama hate America, despise America or what?
Is Obama a Jew hating muslim or what?
This is a kind of fun exercise but where does it end?
If Barry is a Christian, Joan of Arc played second base for the Cleveland Indians.
I remember a few years ago he felt a need to state on television that he was a Christian, and Christ was his personal savior (or some words to that effect).
It was weird. It just sounded like he was repeating some buzzwords that someone had handed him (or that he had rehearsed), and clearly he had no heart to the words he was speaking.
Now I grant you a used car salesman, or a Politician (a used car salesman on steroids) can look you right in the eye and ooze sincerity out of every pore while he lies through is teeth; and, conversely, a sincere person can appear nervous and shifting when they have to profess something personal in public -- but Obama just came across as someone parroting words for political expediency.
The Cross IS offensive to those in rebellion to God.
The Cross says “nothing you do will ever be good enough to earn salvation”,
and that really irks people.
They should ask him but in reference to his personal admission when getting into Illinois politics. Public records will tell that for Obama the sweetest music/sound was the Muslim call for prayer. That Obama’s mamma Stanley Ann took him back as a child to SE Asia for tutoring doesn’t matter shows how ignorant people are as to Obama’s past.
He is a socialist. There is the answer.
Maybe, the Pope can ask him? Given his Muslim background, it will be a lie.
