Real estate mogul Trump has widened his lead to 20 points in a brand new Zogby Analytics poll taken after the second Republican presidential debate. The new poll of 405 likely Republican primary/caucus voters nationwide with a margin of sampling error of +/- 5.0 percentage points, conducted September 18-19, shows Mr. Trump with 33% (up 2 points from his pre-debate 31%). In second place is neurosurgeon Dr. Ben Carson who actually dropped 3 points to 13%.

I agree. Trump is a great CEO. Identify the problem and hire the best people to solve it.
As I recall, Ronald Reagan was a Democrat, head of the Screen Actors Guild for many years, and was, at one time, known as “Red Ronnie” ... But, of course, it is an axiom here on FR that a zebra cannot change its stripes ... However, humans are not zebras ... You and others would do well to remember that fact.
Now, in all honesty, I too have a few misgivings about Mr. Trump - not least of which is his blind acceptance, as “law of the land,” the repulsive decision of five reprobate judges that same-sex “marriage” is a right. Notwithstanding, what shall you do if Mr. trump were to win the Republican nomination?
An AWFUL lot of conjecture based on 405 folks out of a population of 350,000,000. Kind of hard to believe this is terribly accurate. Think about it. One percent of this poll is only 4 people. Thus those candidates with, say 3%, got 12 votes. Out of 350,000,000.
Which means what?
Agree the GOPe is crapping thier panties now.
It's tough to make heads or tails of the polling because some polled Americans, some polled likely Repub voters and some polled those who saw the 'debate.'
It’s a ploy to make you appear less threatening than you are.
Check out what a chin thrust means... recognize any politicians who use it?

LOL!
President Reagan did change his stripes. But he was conservative decades before he ran for president. We can’t say that about liberal Donald Trump as he is liberal to this day and only registered as a Republican in 2009. You and others would do well to remember those facts.
No dragqueen.
You did not answer my closing question.
The minute Trump decides to play it safe and use a politician’s filter, that’s the minute he loses his support.
The reason Trump is resonating is that he sounds like a real person. Marco Rubio and Carly Fiorina are both masters of the sound bite, and the wonkish, urbane patter that used to play so well is now starting to be recognized as the huffing and bleating of RINOs.
We FReepers are political junkies who pay way, way more attention to what’s going on then the average Joe or Josephine who is going to cast a vote in the primaries or the general.
Regular, non political types I talk to who are supporting Trump do so because he sounds authentic and has made issues like the border wall and gun rights that rank and file everyday Americans support his bread and butter.
Let Trump be Trump. Nobody wants a polished wonk. The average voter is looking for a street fighter to kick the asses and take the names of the sort of weasels with gravitas that have been kicking the American people in the teeth for decades and telling us its a pat on the back, with gravitas.
I don’t trust polls even when my guy is winning. Remember Romney? Leading in polls until O won.
That sums it up well. I think it’s too late for the MSM & D.C. professionals. Most have had enough of this choreographed betrayal coming out of D.C.
D.C./MSM going against Trump is like Anthony Weiner running again after being exposed as kinky deviate.
We need some meat.
Indeed you did
