On Monday, September 21, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation's largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, will hold a news conference at its Capitol Hill headquarters to call on Republican candidate Ben Carson to withdraw from the presidential race for saying today that Islam is "inconsistent" with the Constitution and that a Muslim should not be elected president.

"Mr. Carson clearly does not understand or care about the Constitution, which clearly states that 'no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office,'" said CAIR National Executive Director Nihad Awad. "We call on our nation's political leaders – across the political spectrum - to repudiate these unconstitutional and un-American statements and for Mr. Carson to withdraw from the presidential race."
He said this incident demonstrates why the Constitution is needed to protect Americans of all faiths.
Awad noted that in 2011, Herman Cain said he would not appoint a Muslim to his cabinet or as a federal judge if elected president.

That means Ben said something right.
Nothing clear about Mr Carson's non-understanding about the constitution at all. The simple answer to this assertion is that Islam may very well be a religion, but its not JUST a religion, as almost all muslim scholars will readily agree. In which case, Mr Carson is not calling simply for a "religious test".
CAIR just gave support for Dr. Carson’s beliefs.
"I will think about listening to the Council of Angry Islamic Radicals on the subject of tolerance when Islam starts allowing churches and synagogues to be built in Mecca."

So-called sharia ‘law’ is not compatible within our nation, as it is antithetical to the U.S. Constitution, which CAIR does not understand, nor will it.
Screw CAIR. Ben can make his own decisions who to vote for based on whatever he wants. Government is bound by the Constitution not private citizens.
Carly could do better for CAIR as in 2001 she said Islam was the greatest civilization in the world.
If you’re a muslim then you would seem to be against separation of church and state, so yes that would being a muslim president inconsistent with the constitution.
What does this have to with the Constitution?
If they meet the qualifications, muslims can run for president.
The constitution says there can’t be ant religious test to hold office, but you still have to be elected, and we’re free to use whatever criteria we want to decide who to vote for. And just as Carson wont vote foe a Muslim, neither will I. So stuff it, CAIR!
CAIR is, imho, the enemy’s front-line attack force to undermine America
it needs to be thoroughly investigated and all criminal elements deported or punished
