A few days ago, I wrote about some of the guests who had been invited to the White House reception in honor of Pope Francis.
President Obama and Pope Francis may be sympatico on climate change, capitalism, and other far-left issues, but when it comes to the teachings of the Catholic Church, they don't agree on much.
The president will put this to the test, because he has invited a pro-abortion nun, a gay bishop, and a transgender female to the White House to meet the pontiff.
Pope Francis has shown himself to be tolerant, but isn't this a slap in the face to so publicly challenge Catholic doctrine?
That's exactly what the Vatican thinks.
On the eve of Pope Francis’s arrival in the U.S., the Vatican has taken offense at theObama administration’s decision to invite to the pope’s welcome ceremony transgender activists, the first openly gay Episcopal bishop and an activist nun who leads a group criticized by the Vatican for its silence on abortion and euthanasia.
According to a senior Vatican official, the Holy See worries that any photos of the pope with these guests at the White House welcoming ceremony next Wednesday could be interpreted as an endorsement of their activities.

Lie down with clowns and wake up with clown make up smeared all over your face.
I wonder why you wonder as to Obama being a Christian. Lookup what Obama was saying when he first ran for political office in Illinois. He openly admitted to enjoying the prayers offered by Muslims.
That’s why I say the proper response to those questions is that Obama is the one to answer any questions about his religion. When he does, it opens the door to bringing out all of those past statements.
There’s an obvious remedy. So far few people the Balloon Head in Chief has insulted have declined the invitation. All should.
And I don't care. The Pope won't say anything about it, he'll still show, and he'll be giving tacit approval of the whole situation. Maybe even explicit approval?
It could have a huge and visible schlong, a beard three feet long and a history of 20 divorced wives.
But if it wants to PRETEND to be female, the enemedia would still call it a "transgender female".
Call it what it is, not what it pretends to be. It's either a male or female, no matter its pretensions.
I’m afraid the Catholics here are going to see their leader in a different way after this. Remember the fable about the Emperor’s new clothes? Francis will either confirm my suspicions or tear up the temple. I’m betting on the former but praying for the latter
I think that's typical of dictatorships. It's strange.
Nor would I tell the White House my plans in advance.
"The President is intent on embarrassing me, I'll embarrass him. Let the waiting press ask him for an explanation."
Accept? I don't even care.
Interesting. Are you a sedevacantist?
Watch your mouth, this is a family forum.
Well the obama mother-in-law supposedly practices voodoo in the WH so maybe the pope is in for something real special and personalized
Like he said “ who is he to judgge?”
Doh. Judging is , like , so Old Testament
It was too much to expect Obama to exhibit some class. He had to be a jerk.
???
This is going to slowly, maybe we should start counting days.
Another 488.4 days
I'd like to see him include himself in both of these.
But then I'm a traditional Catholic (faith & morals; Latin Mass) who didn't ever pay much attention to pope stuff or the hierarchy of the Church in general. Give me a good priest like Msgr. Charles Pope (no relation) over a bishop (even The Pope) any time.
I blame the poop for this for this disrespect as I do obama.
Thank you!
At least now I can see the time ticking away. Saved it
:)
Do you recall the shrieks of outrage from the Tibet loving Hollywood types at that insult to the Dalai Lama?
Neither do I.
