How big a problem is it that the two leading Republican candidates for president arent actually qualified to be president?
Oh, come on, youre inclined to respond. Its not that much of a problem. After all, Donald Trump and Ben Carson arent really the leading GOP presidential candidates, are they?
Yes, they are. Donald Trump is averaging about 30 percent in national polls and has been rising steadily since announcing his candidacy. Ben Carson started to move into double digits a month ago and is now at 20 percent. No one else is above single digits. In fact, if you take a look at the Real Clear Politics averages, youll find none of the others is above 7.8 percent. The ones who have briefly visited the land of double digits have since fallen back. No one has shown sustained momentum.
Well, youre tempted to retort, why should we believe that neither Trump nor Carson is qualified to be president?
Did you watch the debate? Neither Trump nor Carson has much of a grasp of the issues. Neither has a demonstrated ability to govern. Trump is certainly the less qualified of the two, a self-regarding blowhard whos not much of a conservative to boot, who is not now and will never be qualified to be president.

I miss your point, is there one?
Right now I am supporting Cruz, a true conservative. And there are a few others in the field I would support.
You seem to be able to look into the future. What stocks should I buy or sell today?
If it’s Trump/Cruz you won’t be voting, right?
It is beyond my imagination to conceive of how a hot-air balloon like Trump could possibly win enough delegates in actual primaries—not early online polls—to win the nomination. But supposing that such a far-fetched scenario takes place, Trump would have to go a LOOOOOOONG way to persuade me that he would govern as a conservative. I see nothing now that tells me that.
Or their 53 weeks behind!
I keep hearing this word, "govern." It shows a chasm between his expectations of a president and mine, rooted in the chasm between his view of the proper role of government and mine.
I have no interest in someone who "governs." I want someone who recognizes what works and what doesn't domestically, and doesn't expect me to fund world welfare. I want someone who recognizes I am an adult.
Internationally, I want someone who will unapologetically promote our interests, including closing the F#$%ING border.
I want someone who doesn't lie to me, knows what he wants and is willing and capable of advocating and fighting for it, where necessary.
The Rinocracy will govern. I want someone willing and able to break the hold of the "elite" on our lives.
Trump yes. Cruz yes. Walker maybe. Carson? Sweet guy, but listen to him talk about illegal immigrants, and no. Anyone else? Rinocrats who seek to "govern," AKA more of the same.
You are taking me way too seriously..but the truth is I don’t think much of Mr Trump and Im not sure he could define himself in terms that would make much sense
I dont know if you have seen the following quote but I find it distressing :
What he has done is amazing. The fact that he accomplished what he hasin one year and against great oddsis truly phenomenal Barack Obama proved that determination combined with opportunity and intelligence can make things happenand in an exceptional way...His comments have led me to believe that he understands how the economy works on a comprehensive level. He has also surrounded himself with very competent people, and thats the mark of a strong leader. - Donald Trump Think Like a Champion
Ronald Reagan moved to conservatism over time after a great deal of thought..(that always came across in what he said...I get the feeling Trump jumped on a Bandwagon yesterday without much thought and now he leads a parade
D@mn straight.
this is giving me diarrhea..........
Bill Kristol. Who is he, and why should I care what comes out of his stupid RINO mouth/keyboard?
Very well stated.
“No one was ever less qualified than our current President.”
Bears repeating:
“No one was ever less qualified than our current President.”

He knows his bacon-wrapped shrimp.
Did they change the constitution recently? I believe all the qualifications are listed there and I don't see anything that the Article mentioned as disqualification.
