Hillary Clinton said the thought of selecting Bill as her running mate has crossed her mind, but added that she has been told its likely unconstitutional.
He would be good, but hes not eligible, under the Constitution, the Democratic frontrunner said of her husband in an interview with Extra. He has served his two terms and I think the argument would be as vice president it would not be possible for him to ever succeed to the position at least thats what Ive been told.
It has crossed my mind, she jokingly added to host Mario Lopez.
In such a scenario, Hillary should avoid Fort Marcy Park.
After having been sworn in for his 3rd term, President Bill Clinton wiped away a tear and lamented- “I just don’t understand it, she was in such good health.”
And then he went inside to make sure he had a good supply of Viagra.
Hillary, make him your VP. It’s fine.
There is no authority to rule on Bill’s legitimacy as a candidate, just as there wasn’t for 0bama.
The Constitution has no defenders on this point. Party on!
She’s a nut. What does worry me is that Obummer wont want to leave the presidency to someone Completely against everything he believes.
We already know he’s a dictator. My brother said that fear is silly,.
I thought the law prohibited three consecutive terms, in which case WJC could occupy the office again.
Horrifying thought! And isn’t this against the Constitution?
She would be again riding on the coattails of her husband. The woman is pathetic.
What hasn’t crossed that mind?
But it was the knife in her back that gave it away, right? Heh.
“at least thats what Ive been told.”
What a curious admission of gross ignorance from someone wanting the task of carrying out the Constitution on behalf of 1/3rd billion people.
She’s concerned about complying with the Constitution? Why start now?
Bill cannot sit in the Pres chair again, btw, even if Ms Hillary did suddenly and mysteriously tumble out of Marine One at 1000 ft.
Amendment XII
[Final Clause:]
But no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States
BJ is no longer constitutionally eligible to be President, having served two full terms.
Please read the XXII Amendment, and show me where it prevents Bill Clinton from being VP.
Obviously, as long as those two maintain the fiction of cohabitation, they can’t run together (because electors cannot vote for two people from the same state) - but the XXII clearly is not a barrier to Bill as VP (or Obama, for that matter).
What’s interesting about Clinton’s situation is that the 22nd Amendment only makes two-term presidents ineligible to “be elected to the office of President.” But is Clinton allowed to serve as president? For example, what if Clinton were the Democratic nominee for vice president, and his party won? If his candidate couldn’t finish his/her term, could Clinton be president again? Or would he be unable to serve as vice president in the first place? For now, this is an unresolved question.
