Jeb Bush is deploying his "secret weapon" in a new video designed to appeal to Hispanic voters.
A new video released by the campaign Monday shows Bush speaking in Spanish and his wife, Columba Bush, speaking in English in her most expansive comments to date on her husband's behalf.
Entirely in Spanish, the candidate says: "The United States of America is a great country. Thanks to the people that come from all over the world, contributing to our economy and community. To me, Hispanic culture is very important and positive."
His wife, who was born in Mexico, adds in English: "I have lived over half my life here. We all have the same interests, the same feelings."
She adds later: "We go to church every Sunday. We have celebrations with the family and we keep our traditions. But at the end its just that, faith, friends and family."
In conclusion, Bush adds: "Hispanics contribute more every day to our culture; they are an integral part of the American dream. For these reasons and more, I invite you to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month because we are all Americans."
The ad is timed to the start of Hispanic Heritage Month, which begins Wednesday and stretches into mid-October a period during which most Central American and South American countries mark their independence days.

¡Yeb!,
campaigning in a foreign language to foreigners who can’t vote (legally) may not be the best startegery.
If I became the President I would deport Jeb Bush and his illegal wife along with all the immigrant invasion from 1965 on “legal” and illegal.
Lol!
They sit next to O and the Pope.
Every Jeb! article makes me think he’s seriously not running for president.
Regarding your tagline...do you know what the term “teabagging” means?
Well, we Americans keep our traditions too -- one of which is to speak freakin' ENGLISH, the language of our founding and our history and our heritage.
Do they have to dial "1" for Spanish in Mexico?
I didn't think so.
In conclusion, Bush adds: “Hispanics contribute more every day to our culture; they are an integral part of the American dream. For these reasons and more, I invite you to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month because we are all Americans.”
....
I live in an area invaded by Hispanics. Some are good, some have stronger opinions about trashy Hispanics than I do, but the vast majority never speak English and have no plans to ever assimilate.
I’m sure ex-senators have no issues from parlaying their influence into high paying board positions for Megacorp.
This only makes me hate the guy more.
And it does sound like he likes the high lifestyle. Probably make 400k first year out of office.
Who does Jeb think he’s fooling? Even if he wins the nomination, he’d still at most 20% of the Hispanic vote in the general.
Well, Jeb may just lock up 60% of the 13%. More power to him.
If he thinks that wins him the White House, he’s operating on fewer watts than I thought.
My tagline is a combination of the many things liberals and republicans have referred to us as, so yes, I do know what it means.
By the way, it is quite okay to be the teabagger, not so much the teabaggee.
So this is good practice for his job as Goodwill Ambassador.
or a wetback runner
Both terms are repulsive and a slam at the Tea Party movement. I can’t understand why anyone would want their name associated with filth.
Columba could be mistaken for a piñata. Especially when standing next to ¡Jeb!
