"The exit question, for you, is does that make voting for him worth it, given the big question marks of his positions on all the other issues?"

There is only one issue that trumps all the others and that is will we still have a country?

(pun intended)

If we don’t stop the illegal alien “refugee” invasion of America, “everything else” isn’t going to matter.

My rhetorical question for everyone is: if a more moderate or GOP-E candidate is the VP running mate, will that change your mind about the 2016 election???

I would never vote based on a single issue - ever. I also have doubts any of these candidates will deal much with illegal immigration. As President they don’t operate in a vacuum. At best it gets back to where it was before Obama.

2016 is not just an election. It’s more of a revolution.

Without Trump’s immigration policy, we will lose our Republic.

Immigration Reform has been the subject since RWR signed the amnesty and our elected officials didn’t follow through as promised.

Illegal immigration is out of control and nothing short of a radical fix will due!

What big question marks on other issues?

Fixing our trade imbalance and bringing jobs back to America?

Ending Obamacare?

Ending Commoncore?

Rebuilding our military?

Treating our vets properly?

Lower income taxes and corporate taxes?

Crushing ISIS and supporting Israel?

Standing up to the media and whacking the craps out of political correctness?

Ending the rule of GOPe?

Ending the lobbyist control of our govt?

Ending the cheap labor express?

You say immigration but the issue is end the illegal alien invasion.

Now can Trump do all these things and will he? But on the issues he is the best.

No of course it isn’t worth it because Trump doesn’t believe in Deportation, Border Security, or any of the other statements his consultants told him to say to stir up anger with the base. The truth is Trump doesn’t believe in anything except power and getting that power for himself.

The low-information voters backing Trump never think out the issues very thoroughly. Instead they just rely on emotion.

Even if Trump tries to expel the illegals via deportation, the ACLU will step in and lawyer up the children of illegals born here and get some liberal justice to issue a stay. It’ll then go to the SCOTUS where the 4 liberal justices and Anthony Kennedy will decide that the 14th Amendment applies citizenship to children of illegals and that it would be cruel to deport their parents, thus “settling” the issue. Given Trump’s previous statements about the court, he would most likely say “this is the law of the land” and move on from it. That’s because Trump has no clue about the lawlessness of the Courts and the usurping of power by the Judicial Branch because he has no clue about the powers set forth in the US Constitution. He just “relies on lawyers” to figure that part out.

Look at the Cruz birther garbage. Trump says Cruz “is good to go (i.e. run for POTUS) because “his lawyers have looked into it”. Really. Did reading the damn Constitution or Statutes in effect at the time for himself ever cross Trump’s mind? Letting other people do your thinking and reasoning for you is a dangerous thing to do as POTUS.

It will take a Constitutional Amendment to get immigration in check, including defining birth-right citizenship and who qualifies once and for all and take the decision out of the hands of the Court. It’s a lengthy process and one we’ve already seen the left start to attack by falsely stating “we want to repeal the 14th Amendment” nonsense. Someone with a firm grasp of the Constitution will need to be in place to make sure the Amendment makes it through. Trump has neither the patience nor stamina to see this through because other than leading the process, it is largely out of the POTUS hands and relies on the States to pass/enact the Amendment. Someone that can inspire the States is necessary. And that simply isn’t Trump because the word is “inspire”, not “anger”.

We aren't the people to sell Cruz to, we were happily behind him until Trump came along.

Sad to say, Ted isn't doing well in general and our dropping Trump probably won't change that.

I'm in wait and see mode, but I'm an old hunter, I can sit up a tree and watch the trail longer than most.

BE PATIENT!

I have a problem with Trump on all issues, INCLUDING immigration. Given his past, how can I really be sure he’s not blowing hot air?

I suppose I could say that about every candidate, including my personal favorite, Ted Cruz. We have a definite problem with trust in this country. I didn’t fully realize that till after Republicans took control of both houses of congress. We have been lied to for so long. How can we know that any candidate is stating his real position, or just telling us what we want to hear?

RE: Would you vote for the best candidate on immigration

First, let’s define what we mean by BEST on immigration.

What does it entail?

Everything is tied to immigration.

As the headlines have been saying all week, immigrants, both legal and illegal, are dependent on government services, welfare, schooling, healthcare and food. With immigrants dependent on the government, the government has to grow and when the government grows, so do the unions.

We are told that we have to save the world from melting. We must give up our land and move into apartments or condos and take public transportation. But that would not be possible if immigration were not the driving force for changing our lifestyle.

U.S. Department of Transportation
Transportation for a New Generation
Strategic Plan Fiscal years 2012-2016
http://www.dot.gov/sites/dot.dev/files/docs/990_355_DOT_StrategicPlan_508lowres.pdf

Secretary Ray LaHood
This Strategic Plan responds to these challenges and opportunities. It presents five strategic goals for America’s transportation system:
Safety;
State of Good Repair;
Economic Competitiveness;
Livable Communities;
Environmental Sustainability.

Page 7
Fostering livable communities—places where coordinated transportation, housing, and commercial development gives people access to affordable and environmentally sustainable transportation—is a transformational policy shift for DOT.

Page 47
The traditional nuclear family that made up 40 percent of households in 1970 now comprises less than 24 percent of households. This is an important demographic trend that could have a profound effect on the demand for transit because the demographic groups growing most quickly—older, non-family, non-white households—have historically used transit in higher numbers.
Page 48
However, due to zoning codes and disjointed transportation, housing, and economic development policies, meeting market demand for vibrant, walkable neighborhoods is often difficult or impossible.

Building livable communities involves a holistic approach and DOT is therefore collaborating across lines of authority to leverage related Federal investments. DOT, the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) have formed the Partnership for Sustainable Communities to promote sustainable development and more livable communities. The Partnership is working to address barriers to coordinating transportation, housing, and environmental programs and investments.

Immigration is the biggest issue of our time. Not getting a handle on it in the Western world will be the end of the first world as we know it. It’s that important.

This cycle I am a two issue voter.

Immigration and Trade.

My logic is this: If we don't correct our path, and reverse on BOTH of those, nothing else will matter.

Nothing. All the benefits of this great, liberal Republic will have been negated.

We will be turned into a wasteland where only treachery, treason and tribalism reside.

This is not a policy driven election on the R side. Policy is for wonks who haven’t learned that in Republican-land policy means “lies to buy votes”.

It’s an anti-establishment election, period.

The border is a rallying point for many, but not the root reason for the upside down polling you are seeing. The ridiculous non-performance of the R party in congress and anger at Obama’s and other liberals actions form the roots of this movement.

Lose Immigration and NOTHING ELSE MATTERS.

Ignoring Immigration is likely the best that Cruz can hope for, as, unlike Trump, he will have neither the mandate nor the balls to take on Congress and especially the Courts when he takes office. Trump will likely tell the Courts that they can SHOVE IT when they try to step in to block him - and if that means assuming dictatorial powers, then SO BE IT. Don’t blame Trump, he inherited this mess - blame Obama, but especially blame Bush-43 who literally STOPPED the wall from being built in 2007.

So Cruz, at best, will likely leave us with the status quo on immigration (maybe worse on H1B’s)...and the quickening demographic transformation of this country will continue...until the Dems get another shot at absolute power, and when they do, they WILL NOT put Amnesty off for health care reform, gun control, abortion, or ANYTHING ELSE.

Unlike the Republicans, Democrats are able to LEARN FROM THEIR MISTAKES - they will do just as their European counterparts are doing right now - make sure that Western Culture and once and for all TOTALLY DESTROYED.

As to the other issues - nothing matters if we don’t clear out the Illegals, as the Dems will get their votes, for certain, and the Republicans will be left as a TOTALLY POWERLESS party...so where they stand on abortion, education, gun right, etc. will not make ONE BIT OF DIFFERENCE.

So maybe a compromise. Trump in 2016 to clear out the country and get the wall built, Cruz in 2020 to set the country in the right direction.
