Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson knocked rival Donald Trump's immigration plan on Tuesday, saying that deporting the country's undocumented immigrants "sounds really cool" but would be far too costly and complicated.
"It sounds really cool, you know, 'Let's just round them all up and send them back,'" Carson said. "People who say that have no idea what that would entail in terms of our legal system, the costs - forget about it. Plus, where you gonna send them? It's just a double whammy."
Carson has been gaining on Trump, the GOP frontrunner, in recent polls. An NBC/Marist poll released Sunday found Carson has jumped to second place in Iowa among Republican voters, seven points behind the real estate mogul.
Trump's immigration plan calls for deporting the estimated 11 million undocumented workers currently in the U.S., a proposal that opponents say would cost billions and would be nearly impossible to execute. Carson said that he instead favors a plan that would allow undocumented workers the chance to become guest workers.

30 million guest workers, who will breed like rabbits for more welfare.
NO
Ben, over 2/3 of Americans like this plan. You just stewed your own tomatoes with that position
Freegards

They key to Trump’s plan is to shut off the influx. If you don’t shut off the influx, nothing you do will ever work.
If you want a guest worker program that gives illegals legal status, and you don’t shut the gate, you’ll only bring in millions more. And if you don’t have the political will to expel people who are here illegally, you aren’t going to have the will to deny them residency after they’ve been here a few years as guest workers. And again, if you haven’t shut the gate, you’ll only bait the hook for millions more to make the trek north.
I think Carson’s surge
just
ended.....
The money spent to DEPORT the illegals will come from the money SAVED by NOT paying all that welfare that the illegals collect...Not to mention the cost of keeping them in our jails and prisons...
Build a defensible wall first, then kick their a$$e$ OUT!!!!!
What the heck is with most of our candidates this year? why are they all so quick to destroy themselves?
Et tu, Ben?
And I’m disappointed in Jindal too.
Not because they criticized Trump, but because they’re following orders from the party bosses. And that makes them look like a patsy.
Facts:
1) Except in the very odd/exceptional election year of 1964, the Dems havent cracked 50% of the whites in a Presidential election since 1932.
2) Once the 64 election was over, the Dems understood that they would never win another Presidential election again unless the Republicans REALLY screwed up...or unless they changed the electorate in a dramatic way.
3) The Dems, courtesy of Bobby Kennedy who wrote the law, and Teddy Kennedy who pushed it in the Senate, passed the 1965 Immigration Act. That law dramatically reduced immigration from our then-traditional large sources of immigrants - England, Ireland, Holland, Germany, etc. - and replaced them with vast numbers of Turd Worlders...whom everyone knows vote around 80% for Dems, and will continue to do so for the rest of their lives, as new immigrants have traditionally done.
4) As a result of the 65 Act, and due to the Dems outright lying in 86 regarding an effective (or any) fence, there are now probably 30 - 40 million illegals in this nation. Note that the (probably low-ball) figure in 2005 was 11 million...we have 2-3 million come in every year, so simple math says that the number is actually somewhere between 31 and 41 million). If any substantial portion of these people ever become citizens, then the Dems will have accomplished a complete shift of the electorate, and will be virtually invincible on the national level. Every state will become like California, both politically and economically - which is to say, overwhelming Dem and broke. But at least if you dont like California now, you can leave for a better place without much trouble - where are you going to go if EVERY state is like that?
5) Every Republican, and every Conservative voter MUST UNDERSTAND that if such a state of affairs comes to be, NO OTHER ISSUE WILL MATTER AT ALL, because we will ALWAYS AND FOREVER lose on those issues. Immigration is THE issue of this election, and this election is as critical as the 1860 election was - and for the same reason, because it will determine whether this nation continues on as it has existed in the past, or becomes a new and unrecognizable entity that simply occupies the same geographic territory.
Please wake up, and help others to do so by sending them this post (or recommending Adios America to them). It really is THAT important.
That’s the first dumb thing I’ve heard Carson utter.
Where are we gonna send them?
How about we drop them off at their home ports and let their countries of origin sort them out?
Carson making his play and being left on immigration is not going to work.
Despite Dr. Carson’s good points on some subjects, he AIN’T the guy. Sorry doc. But then again, the gopE likes him a little better than they like the Donald. Which is Z E R O. They suffer from terminal stupidity.
In fact, the latest polls do not show Carson closing the gap on Trump, be it a national or state (Iowa, New Hampshire or South Carolina) poll. NBC making a story out of thin air. Of course, if Carson were to be the GOP nominee NBC would make up other stories to tear him down.
And another one is recruited by the Chamber of amnesty.
Well, Ben, you ain’t “ my guy” but I have been trying to defend you all morning but not on this. If we can’t afford to send them back how in the world can we pay them to stay?
I do not think it is wise to dismiss mass deportation out of hand. What thought process went into Carson’s remarks? Has he studied this to the extent necessary so that he may say with confidence, “No can do?” I tend to be of the same mind, namely that the solution is not as simple as mass deportation. I’d like to turn the best immigrants into devout, conservative Americans (no matter what their ethnic background) and send the rest, along with their white liberal cheerleaders packing for Cuba or Mexico. That does not seem to be a practical approach either.
It’s the number one issue of the day dissed by the number two Republican candidate of the day.
I generally like Carson, but he’s not ready for prime time. I’ve said it before. A great surgeon he is. A great candidate for the highest office in the land, he is not.
A reliable source recently reported that each ILLEGAL family here imposes around a $700,000.00 per year total burden on the system (perfect for obozo’s Cloward-Piven strategy to bankrupt the nation).
Assume 7 members (direct and extended) per family. That comes in at 100 grand per individual.
While I suspect the number is far higher, let’s say there are only 11 million here now. If I’ve done the math correctly, 100 grand times 11 million comes to 1.1 trillion per year.
Dr. Carson and others have commented that sending these folks back to their homelands would be too costly.
I don’t know about you, but lessening of the annual burden by over a TRILLION BUCKS, would have us square with that up front cost in a couple years. Then maybe we could devote some time and resources to getting the LEGALS jobs and out of obozo’s comfy welfare HAMMOCK!
While any of this requires that we run off obozo and his merry band of malicious and mendacious miscreants, it sure sounds like a plan and a bargain to me!
And Im disappointed in Jindal too.
Not because they criticized Trump, but because theyre following orders from the party bosses. And that makes them look like a patsy.
Why do you assume that? There are those who are put off by Trump and who have been hollering from the rooftops for a good while. And according to the Trump fans, the only reason we are doing that is because we want an Establishment candidate. Frankly, it shows little imagination to make such shallow accusations. Nevertheless, I shall press on and hope that the light shined on this egomaniacal, classless, thin-skinned blowhard will bring people to their senses.
